I don't know what I'm going to do. This was not what I imagined when I pictured freedom. I sit. And I wait. And wait. And wait. Did these people forget about me? I'm getting ready to try and escape through the air vents when a police officer finally comes and opens the door.
"Hello ma'am", he greets me. "Why are we here today? And what's going to happen next?" What is this? A fucking pop quiz? "You tell me sir." I say respectfully in my best innocent voice. "I was just trying to get a hotel room and the man tricked me. He said that this was my room but then he locked me in a storage closet and I've been in here ever since. I was beginning to think that i was never going to get out."
"So you have no idea what you did wrong?" "Oh no sir." Layin on the accent a little heavy there. I bet this guy is wondering why why I'm not wearing cowboy boots with dual pistols strapped around my waist. "What did I do wrong?" "You tried to purchase a hotel room without an ID. Its a new policy to help keep people from abusing drugs in hotels. But since its relatively new I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you just didn't know. But I still have to run you through the system and make sure you don't have a criminal record. What's your name?"
The name. Always the fucking name. "Umm.......my name is penny lou." Nice hesitation there retard. "Penny lou?" "Yes sir" "what's your last name sweetheart?" "Ummm...smith." "penny lou smith. That's a mighty fine name for a country girl. How old are you?" "Fifteen" I reply immediately.
"Ok then penny. Let's go to my cruiser. Your not in any trouble but I have to see if this information is legit." We walk to his car and he tells me to sit in the back seat. We I do so he closes the door, leaving me trapped, and punches in some information on his computer.
Oh god I think to myself. He's going to know that all of the information I gave him was bullshit.
"Look at the camera." Why does he want my picture? The camera flashes. I see my picture flash on his computer screen and red writing spams under my name. Suddenly the officer points his gun at me and all traces of humanity are gone from his eyes. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say from this point on can and will be used against you." I'm silent. The man makes a few calls and then puts the car into gear and we start to leave the hotel.
"Where are we going?" I ask. Genuinely confused. "I'm taking you to the federal bureau of investigation headquarters. You have a lot of explaining to do."
Fuck.
