Hello, everyone! I'd like to apologize for the delay on making the fic database—I've been very busy with school and haven't had much time to make it. However, it's finally finished with a few upgrades!
Now, it displays what category an entry will be moved to in case a category has five or less entries and needs to be removed. We do this so that people don't win purely because of a lack of entries.
It also displays whether or not this is an author's first year participating in the Pokémon Watty Awards. If this category is marked as "Yes", then that author is eligible for the "Best New Author" special award!
Last year, few people were aware of the database, and many people weren't completely sure how it worked. So, we have written up a detailed guide to the database.
The Pokémon Watty Awards Fic Database
The database is a means of organizing every entry: the entries are separated by category, then listed in alphabetical order for easy navigation. The database serves as a means for finding new stories to read, allowing the judges to easily access entries when judging, and finding the status of your entry.
To you, the most important aspect of the database is the inspection category. This column, labelled "Passed Inspection?" tells you if your story is eligible for judging or not. This is very important, because any ineligible fics will NOT be judged.
If your story is labelled "PI", then you are good to go! However, if it is labelled "No", you need to improve your story before it can be judged. If you are not eligible for judging, we will provide a brief explanation why in the next column, labelled "If not, fix this:". For example, if your story is labelled with "SP", that means your story has excessive spelling errors. If you don't know what the code we write means, you can find an explanation of every code on the database's main tab.
You also need to know about the tab labelled "Completed?". If that column is labelled "yes", then you are good to go! However, if it is labelled "N/A", than means you've marked your book as ongoing despite claiming in your entry form that it's completed. To fix this, mark your book as complete then let us know of the change. If you do not fix this by the deadline, we will assume your book is incomplete, and disqualify you from the judging process.
Those are the two things you need to know about the database! As long as you check up on your entries and make sure your story is eligible for judging, you'll be fine.
If your story doesn't pass inspection and you're not sure how to improve it, check out the editing service that the GottaReadEmAllClub offers!
