It's been about two weeks since I last seen Jasper. I've been texting him asking what's wrong and he won't tell me and now everything about this boy makes me sick to my stomach. He's annoying. Shawn has been hovering over me since day two and that losses me off and now I may possibly need a shrink because I bottle, and I feel like I'm about to explode. It's Thursday now and Jasper has finally showed up at school, but he's lacking something. I walked up to his locker with a big smile in my face and I realized what he's missing. He isn't scaring me. I feel completely at ease. I suppose talking to someone for two weeks about only deep personal issues really does have an effect on someone.

Jasper's biological father died when he was four and he's had an abusive step dad since he was five. His kid brother Dane lives with his grandparents because their mom is a drug addict and Jasper's fathers parents despise his mother and support her and Jasper none. He doesn't have anybody in the world.

Except for me.

"Well why couldn't you just haven't old me while you were at my house? I just don't understand Jasper."

He smiled.

"How many times do I have to tell you Beautiful? You weren't ready to hear it. Especially in person. Speaking in person is more powerful than messaging, so I chose the easier way for you."

"Oh.. Well alrighty then. Are you gonna walk me to my first class?"

He glanced over my shoulder and chuckled.

"That isn't my job Beautiful. I'll see you later."

He grabbed my hand and walked away before Shawn reached him.

"Really Nat? You're doing this on purpose."

I shoved him and without a word I walked away. I texted Shawn all through my English class. He was trying to convince me that Jasper is bad news and said we needed to meet up to talk. I agreed just for his sake, because ever since Clarrisse told me he wanted me back I can only pity him. After school I rode home with Shawn and made us an afternoon snack.

"My friends seen him at a club doing like a drug deal."

"You have guys to soy on him Shawn? Are you kidding me? This is so ridiculous how can you be so incompetent? This isn't like you so would you stop acting like such a prick."

"I'm not a prick because I'm trying to protect you Natalie. You're important to me and I want you to be safe. I don't think that he's safe."

I rolled my eyes and went to the living room. Shawn followed me and sat really close next to me.

"You're letting him come here? Are you kidding Natalie! He's probably gonna try to rape you or something! He's a creep, he's been caught peeping in on the girls in the locker rooms."

I laughed out loud and Shawn was offended.

"Who's your witness?"

"The girls duh."

"Shawn those girls are pretentious attention seekers. Their word is as valid as a bullfrog's."

"Fine, but when he rapes you don't come running to me for comfort."

"I think you should go Shawn."

He got really mad and stormed out as Clarrisse was walking in."

"He's pissed about something."

She said sitting next to me.

"We were talking about Jasper."

"Oh, his are things on the sexy train?"
