Third Person Point Of View:
Chapter 1:
"Dad, is everything alright?" Gene asked with her voiced laced with concern and curiosity. Gene took off her uncomfortable work heels and her blazer. (external link for outfit in all chapters!) and stood in the middle of her parent's gigantic living-room. Her step-mom, Karla stood up, quickly while she clapped her hands, excitedly.
"Oh, Can I just tell her already??" Karla asked her husband, Joseph impatiently. Joseph looked at Gene with sorrow and sadness. Gene got more worried by the second on what her excuse of a mother has done this time. Karla shrieked and grabbed Gene tightly on the shoulders. Karla smirked once she saw Gene wince. Gene looked at her father again, fear in her eyes.
"You are getting married."
"WHAT! I am not even engaged?!" Gene stood up and so did Karla. Gene pushed Karla onto the sofa, roughly. Gene pointed a finger at her step-mother.
"You gold-digger. You took my dad away from me. You take away my dog. You thought my room was bigger than yours so you made me switch. You make me work at a stupid secretary job. You just want fucking money. You are such a bitch and I hope you go to hell." Joseph helped Karla off the couch and hugged her around the waist.
" Gene Maria Smith, how dare you talk to your mother like that!" he yelled at me.
"My mother is dead." I calmly stated. My heart shattered in two as I remembered her.
"Young lady, we will discuss this later. Go up to your room, right now." Karla commanded as she pointed her fat fingers to the direction of my room. I felt tears block my vision and I wiped them away.
"Fuck you." I flipped her the bird and snatched my blazer and shoes from the counter. I slammed the door behind me, dramatically and walked off to my mother's grave.
