This is a short one shot of what could have happened after Ned Stark's death.

"My Lady," jeered Joffrey in his young voice "meet me in my chambers."
Sansa stared at her plate as he said this. She was not hungry. Neither did she want to meet him in his chambers. But her curiosity got the best of her, as she soon found herself excusing herself from the dinner table. The children chorused a goodbye while The Queen stared at her all the while. She said nothing, so Sansa quickly bowed and rushed out of the room.
As she briskly stalked the halls, she thought over the past days. Her father was gone, and she was starting to believe rightfully so. Her beloved Joffrey had his duty of being the protecter of the realm, and that meant punishment for treason it seemed. The memory of that day lingered in her mind still, not four days ago it had happened.

She had fainted that day. It was a hot, humid day in the center of King's Landing. Bodies of peasants and soldiers and nobles packed so tightly as to get a glimpse of Ned Stark's last moments.
Sansa couldn't find Arya in the crowd, but she soon cared little about that.
Father came dragged and chained out of the port hole in the wall. He was white as a ghost, thin and sickly with overgrown hair and a beard.

Sansa stopped walking the halls. She had reached Joffrey's chambers. The Hound was keeping watch as he always did, and Sansa had to make herself look away from his mutilated face.
Time to stop thinking, she thought. Whatever it was Joffrey had to say, she could handle it. Whatever he wanted, she could give it to him.
She knocked.
He soon answered.
The door swung open and greeted her with a wide smile from Joffrey. Sansa felt a little part inside of her crumble to mush. It reminded herself of why she had first loved him.
"Sansa," he said when the door was closed. It was the first time he had called her by her first name " I believe I am in a rather bad position at the moment. Killing your farther was wrong, and I -"
"Stop!" She yelled
".... What did you say?" Joffrey asked. Sansa could see the anger in his eyes boiling.
"I want you to stop this. "
"Stop what?"
"Stop changing your mind. One day you kiss me and give me a necklace, the next you give me my farther's head! Do you hate me? Is this a game for you Joffrey?"
"No! Of course not my lady!"
"Then I have no choice but to compare you to the Mad King!"
In a quick motion, Sansa fell to the floor. Her cheek grew red after Joffrey's blow.
"I am nothing like him." He said in a quiet voice "I'm nothing like father either. "
Sansa stood slowly.
"You are nothing like your parents. Lady Lannister is manipulating, and Sr Lannister is a ruthless fool."
"My father was Robert Baratheon. "
"Joffrey I don't take you as a fool." Sansa whispered.
He sat on his bed, hands on his head, Sansa by his side.
"I am so screwed up my lady. " he sighed. "The "Bastard King" that's what they'll call me The Killer of all Rightful Kings. "
"I don't blame you, my love." She placed her hand over his " You have mad blood in your veins put there by your parents. You did the right thing. My father tried to seize what's yours, he was a traitor in his last free moments. He was foolish. He showed hope for the rebels. You were right to let him die."
"My lady..."
"My true love, nothing you can do will stop me from loving you. "
When dawn broke, things had changed. A new future had begun for Joffrey and Sansa, and a new heir had been created. It is safe to say that Joffrey was still a mad bastard, yet he was able to think about the ones he loved before he acted.
