Chapter 8: Next Step Pt 2

* Karri's POV *

Hadn't heard from Peter in about 2 days, & it wasn't like us to get over an argument. Maybe he easy actually serious about leaving me. I didn't want that to happen. Everything we had been through, made me love him more. Including that argument at the restaurant. The past few days I hadn't been talking to anyone. I sat there watching tv & eating ice cream & chocolate Hershey bars. Today, I had enough. I wanted things to work, I wanted my best friend, my relationship back, & was willing to do whatever. I grabbed my shoes & went over to Peter's house. First, I hesitated to knock on the door & finally took a breath, & knocked.

Peter: What are you doing here?

I got scared of that question, so I lied which backfired.

Karri: To pick up my things.

Peter: What things? You always take you're shit back home with you.

Karri: Oh... yeah. I forgot.

Peter: Yeah. Well, everybody forgets stuff.

Karri: I guess.

Peter closed the door in my face after my comment. I started walking towards my car, when I finally realized I wanted it to work. I now knew that maybe it was time for the next step. It would be nice to have our own home, it had a nice little sound & vision to it. I walked back to the door & knocked.

Peter: WHAT?!

Karri: Let's talk.

Peter: Find some damn food to munch on. That's what was important to you the other day at the restaurant, remember?

Karri: Shut the hell up & listen. Look, the past 2 days made me realize that I don't want to lose you & everything that we've done. You're my best friend Peter & so much more!

Peter: Okay?

Karri: & I wanted to tell you earlier that I got us an appointment with a real estate agent for a house.

Peter: Good, cause I love you too.

Peter started smiling & grabbed me into his arms. I felt his warm kiss that he planted on my cheek. I really missed those hugs & kisses. It felt like forever. One thing is for sure, I knew I was ready. I didn't regret my confession at all.
