Magical Beings

The Amulets

  " Feel any different?" Kane asked as friends, as he lead them to an abandoned house.

    " Just a little weaker and are we there yet?" Vela responded.

  " The lady said the house was in the woods behind the high school. We'll get there eventually." Adam countered.

  The six friends walked deep into the woods until they found the house. It was at least two centuries old and covered in moss. They windows were broken and the landscape was poorly kept. The house was white but, due to age now looked yellow. Nothing surrounded it for miles except for a lake.

" Well this isn't creep at all." Felix said as he and his friends walked into the house.

  The woman still wearing her black robes, was dusting a table as the friends walked in. 

" Welcome please stand over there. For the next two weeks I promise to teach you as much about your powers as I, can." she claimed.

 " What do you mean two weeks, aren't you gonna be with us for a while?" Shreya asked.

" I am old and can only teach you so much. You must figure out the rest for yourself." The women answered.

" Now let's begin. First, of all you are all very powerful together and apart. Each of has a special power you can control. It's up to me to determine what they are." she continued.

" Do we get wands or brooms?" Kane suggested. 

" Are you stupid? Those are only in Harry Potter and the other shows you kids see. You have real magic that deals with emotions and projection. Not spells or wands." The woman retorted. 

" What are those necklaces for?" Jaya asked,changing the subject.

" Ah, these will determine what your powers truly are and you must wear them. Once, school starts in two months you all must meet at this house everyday to train." She said.

" Lady we are all going to different high schools in two months. We can't meet here everyday." Felix yelled.

" No I pulled some strings and went back in time. I forged some exams and made some letters, and got you all into the same high school. Then, I sent a letter to your parents informing them." She blatantly said.

" What? Have you no shame? I can't stay in high school with them, I was on my way out!" Felix argued.

" It's done now lets move on. The amulets will chose you for themselves. That's how your power will be sorted out. There are five powers to be given out." The woman said ignoring Felix.

" Wait, there are six of us and only five powers. I refuse to go on until you tell us your name." Jaya muttered.

" One of you will gain all five powers and in good time you'll figure out my name. Enough, chit chat  I'm on a schedule." the woman protested.

  All of a sudden the six amulets rose off the table and stood in a line like soliders. They began to glow and hiss.

" The power to manipulate emotions..." The woman aksed and the amulet flew onto Felix's neck.

" The power to control weather...." She said and the next one flew onto Shreya's throat.

" The power to communicate to animals..." The necklace chose Vela.

" The power to bring objects closer...." Adam felt the amulet click on his neck.

" The power to freeze anything..." The woman yelled and Kane looked down on his neck.
