SANYU'S POV
After changing into party wear, we reached the area where many couples were dancing. I looked at Randhir. He is no less than a Greek God. How come I never noticed his charm in 10 years of school? Oh gosh, what am i thinking? This is not done Sanyukta. But this guy, I cant stop admiring him. What to do with this heart?
"See there, our escort teachers are dancing. I have to admit one thing, they look good together. Let me click one pic" RD said
"Yeah, thats correct." I gave a reply but then I got distracted by the song. Its my latest fav from Soham Naik - 'BAS EK BAAR'.
"Shall I dance with u Miss beautiful?" Saying this, Randhir guided me across the dance floor as if we were in a dream. He kept his eyes on me
Meri nazron ko tune sapna dikhaya
Jagaya mujhe raaton mein
Dabi dabi saanson mein khushboo le aaya
Kabhi jo naa thi raahon mein
He turned elegantly, his body in tune with the slow musicAisa mera dil kabhi na tha
Jaisa yeh ho gaya
Karamaat teri hai yehRandhir placed his hand on my back, my hand on his shoulder and our free hands finally met. We danced to the music, our feet in perfect sync to the beating of my heart
Bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Maano na kehna mera
Main toh bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Kehta hai dil yeh meraAs the song progressed I felt relaxed, and allowed a small smile to form on my lips. He was perfect . I have never been so close to a boy.
Aate aate tum le aana be-mausum ki
Kuch barishein yahaan
Aadhe aadhe bheege dono hon phir apni
Kuch khwaishein rihaAisa mera dil kabhi na tha
Hairaan be-wajah
Saughat teri hai yehThe warmth between us grew more powerful by the second. My heartbeat was growing steadily along with it. Our dance was perfect; everything from our breathing to how our feet moved stayed in sync.
Bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Maano na kehna mera
Main toh bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Kehta hai dil yeh meraHaan.. bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Maano na kehna mera
Main toh bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Kehta hai dil yeh meraRealization stroked when I saw people gazing at us and murmuring "She is the girl who sang and the boy played guitar. They look amazing together. They must be in a relationship" and I be like 'What are they saying? RD has a gf' but he was not interested and may b he have not heard anything because he was entirely into the song
Bethe bethe soche tumko
Do ankhein hi bunti kahaniyaan
Hanste hanste baatein karte
Ik dooje se khwabon ke darmiyaanAisa mera dil kabhi na tha
Iss baar ho gaya
Khurafat teri hai yeh"Randhir" I whispered "Everyone is looking at us"
He squeezed my hand slightly and smiled. "Really," he chuckled softly, "I haven't notice."
With that, I knew. He need not say more. That was when I decided to let it go. Right here, right now I was living. Nothing else seemed to matter anymore.
Bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Maano na kehna mera
Main toh bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Kehta hai dil yeh meraHaan, bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Maano na kehna mera
Main toh bas ek baar tumko dekhne ko tarsun
Kehta hai dil yeh meraWhen the song ended the audiences' applause filled our ears. I couldn't help but smile at him. In that very hour I wondered why I didn't see him before. Soon we parted from our positions. Why it feels amazing to be near him? I was zoned out from my world of thoughts by a voice saying "U danced well, u r giving me surprises on surprises today." i saw it was Randhir. Did he feel the same during the dance? Oh common Sanyu, he likes Nandini. Not love but he likes her
"U too. I have never danced like this with anybody."
"I m lucky then" he winked at me and I blushed again. Shit!
"The color of your cheeks is perfectly matching with ur dress - RED" he laughed
I decided to change the topic to avoid any further embarrassment.
"Where is Mam and Sir? I m feeling tired. She has taken the keys" I asked Abhi
"I saw them near the drinks counter"
"What the hell... they are drinking!!!!!"
"Let them enjoy yaar, they could not even go to honeymoon because of us, this competition."
"What if they are drunk? I should immediately ask her for the keys or else..."
"DOnt go there, they might get embarrass. After all, they are teachers and we are students. I believe that they know their limits. If u are feeling tired, then come to my room. I have the keys and since we have our competition tomorrow, we can discuss also"
"Your room?? No no. I have heard that girls are not allowed to enter boy's building. I cant take the risk. Discuss here okk"
"Because of some creeps, we need to face all this. We wont have sex there. These narrow minded people..."
"Shut up. Have some manners to use these words before a girl"
"What?? Its a normal thing. Everybody does it. U will also do. Whats there to feel shame?"
I made irritated face "Could u stop this now? Lets discuss. We have a written round tomorrow and a digital round day after tomorrow. We must get selected for digital round."
"We will win Sanyu, trust me like the way I do"
This made me smile and then we did the necessary preparations and nourished our topics' knowledge more. I should WIN. Not only for me, but for us..
