Chapter 16: Reunited

       Luke watched as Lucas and Marilyn sat on the couch in the hospital lobby. Marilyn sat resting her head on Lucas' shoulder smiling. Lucas had his lips pressed to her forehead.

Luke couldn't deny it any longer the same spark he saw in Lucas the past couple of days, Marilyn proudly displayed. Earlier Lucas couldn't get his hands off of her and she was just as eager. It was very unnerving for Luke to see Lucas be so informal with someone of the human specie.

Throwing his head back he quickly turned away when Marilyn leaned up and sucked on Lucas' bottom lip. Not because the act disgusted him but because of the way she tenderly kissed Lucas made him feel like he was standing in the corner of their bedroom watching them make passionate love. To say the least it made him feel like he was intruding on a private moment. Marilyn and Lucas clearly did not take people's comfortness into consideration when they wanted to preform public displays of affection.

Luke glanced back to see if the two had stop but when he turned back around Marilyn had her legs around Lucas' waist and his hands were glued to her thigh.

OH FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!! Luke yelled at himself.

Marilyn was tugging at his shirt pulling him ever so close to him. Their kissing if anything got worse. The position they were sitting in sent chills up his spin. The last thing these two had on their minds is stopping.

"Repulsive isn't it." Laken said walking up to Luke.

Luke tensed and his protective wall rose. "That's actually the word I think of when I look at you." He responded.

A smile rose up on Laken's face as he looked from Luke then back at the embracing couple. "He's going to get hurt you know?"

Luke turned to look at Laken with a raised eyebrow. Laken kept his gaze glued on Lucas and Marilyn whose kissing only got more private for the public space they were in.

"Do you remember when I turned 18?" Luke asked. 

"You mean the day the devil became legal? How could I possibly forget."

Laken ignored him and continued. "Father had a huge party at the mansion for my birthday. He invited everyone. Investors, shareholders, businessmen and woman, none of which was anyone I knew." Laken said laughing. "I soon realized that it wasn't a party to celebrate my turning 18 but to introduce me as soon to be CEO of BEAU."

"And what an utter waste of time that party was considering your current position."

Once again Laken ignored him. "I remember you and Lucas sat in the living room the entire time. Bored out of your mind. Lucas being the over-curious boy he was kept getting up and talking to the guest. That's when he met Rachel. His first love."

"Rachel was not his first love. She was his first crush."

"Regardless of their present relationship, at the time she made him happy just like Marilyn is doing right now."

"You can't possibly compare this-" Luke said pointing at Marilyn and Lucas. "-to the puppy love infatuation with Rachel, Lou had when he was 12. It didn't even last a fraction of a second."

"And do you know why?"

Luke looked at him comfused. "Why what?"

"Why it didn't last?"

Luke didn't know nor did he care to know. This infatuation happened 15 years ago, it wasn't important. Nonetheless, he decided to entertain Laken. "Why?"

"Because Grant got rid of her."

Luke narrowed his eyes. "Grant? Our father got rid of a twelve year old girl because his son was infatuated with her?" Luke said with laughter.
