Luke POV

"Luke, will you go check on them? Make sure she's still doing okay?"

"Yeah, be back in a minute."

Luke left his parents in the kitchen, making his way to Luna's room. He was tired and angry, his body slowly weighing down. Relief flooded his body as he found Luna's bedroom door still wide open, not that he didn't trust Michael, however today was not a good day. He moved to knock on the frame when his eyes landed on the bed, Luna cradled in Michael's arms both of them sleeping soundly. Emotions crashed over him like waves until he pushed them away. She was fine and she was getting some rest at least. Michael was simply taking care of her. He gently closed the door behind him, leaving it open just a crack before going back to his parents.

"They're both asleep." Liz and Andy looked at each other for a split second.

"It'll be fine, Andy. I'll just call Karen and let her know that Mikey can stay." Liz tried to soothe her husband's mind before moving away from the both of them. Andy and Luke sat in silence as Andy drank some tea.

"Dad?"

"What's up?"

"I feel kind of responsible. . . For what happened." Andy gazed at his son closely unsure of exactly what to say.

"Why do you feel that way?"

"Because I thought we didn't have to worry about Lane anymore. I let her be on her own. I should've known better."

"Son, you have to remember that he hadn't done or said anything to her in weeks, not since the incident on her social media. What happened today is definitely not your fault."

Luke didn't say anything as he picked at his finger nails. His dad's words helped, but only slightly.

"Lane's not going to be at Norwest anymore is he?"

"No, he's not. Honestly, he never stood a chance. Not with your mother in the room."

"Good." Andy looked at his son once more. Noticed how Luke was twisting his hands and clenching them until his knuckles were white.

"Why don't you head up to your room and relax? It's still relatively early." Luke sighed. He knew what that was code for.

-Luna POV -

Luna was warm, but not uncomfortable. Keeping her eyes closed, she wriggled a little trying to go back to sleep. There were light snores next to her ear reminding her that it was Michael that she was wrapped up in. Trying to get a peek of her window, she struggled to lift her head, but Michael's arms had her caged. The boy mumbled, but didn't wake up. Luna gave up when there was a knock on her door.

"Luna, Michael it's time to wake up." Luna rolled her body to face the doorway. Liz was leaning against the frame.

"How long were we asleep?"

"All night. Now, come on we'll talk over breakfast." Luna caught Liz's eyes scanning over her and Michael, making Luna's cheeks flush, but she didn't say anything.

"Be down as soon as I'm free." Liz walked away with a nod, leaving Luna to figure out how to wake Michael up. Wiggling once more she freed her arms and began poking Michael's cheek.
