My sister was reading a book. I forget which- she was always reading idiotic love stories. Yet there I was; sitting under the tree next to my sister with nothing to do. Back then, I was a dunce. I figured that there was no point in reading a book without even a single picture. Well, at least that's the opinion I had voiced. Truth is that I couldn't really read. But I had- and still till this day- hated the teacher which had taught me. But if I had said that I couldn't read, I would have had to sit another dozen or so lessons with him. And that would have been worse than anything.
So, I couldn't very well read, nor talk. I thought about making daisy chains, but there weren't any daisy's visible. I was bored to death. That was, of course, the moment I saw the rabbit. It was a very cute rabbit; a nice fluffy white one. Of course, I'd be caught dead if he found out I had- and still- think that. He was always such a strict one. Anyway, I went to sit up, to see the rabbit. To perhaps even catch it. I don't exactly remember what my initial intentions were.
None of that matters, of course. The fact is that I stood up, and my sister (to remain anonymous) asked me what I was doing. I told her it was of nothing of importance, and then she went back to reading.
I then attempted to run after the rabbit. Then I noticed that he was holding a pocket watch, muttering the same thing over and over again: I must not be late.
"Dear Rabbit," I had called out when I had gotten out of earshot of my sister. "Rabbit? Why mustn't you be late?" But he just kept on hopping away from me, until I could neither see nor hear him anymore. Then I tripped and fell down what I assumed was a rabbit hole.
