Chapter 1: The Accident (Girl)
A loud distress scream pierces through the air, disturbing my day dreams. I blink a couple of times, remembering where I was. The class where you feel as though your brain is being eaten raw by numbers and silly equations. Algebra was never my strong suit. No wonder I lost focus.. I quickly scoop up my worn bag off the ground, dusting off the bottom as I took my first steps towards the door then swinging the strap over my shoulder. Right before I leave the room, a glimpse of gold catches my eye from the reflection of a mirror hanging on the classroom wall. I shake my head, ignoring my vile looks. In the hallway, I watch as some girls stare at me then snicker my direction. Others being loud and careless about their surroundings and the people nearby. Then there's the quite friends that walk straight to class, talking amongst themselves. But me, I didn't fit in anywhere I went.
Walking to my next class of torment, I started to fiddle with my book, trying to catch up on my sketches. As I drew and walked, my lummox self clashes into a tall, broad shoulder guy with lavish looking dark hair, causing my hands to free everything in its grasp. The group of people standing there continued to act oblivious to what had happened, except for him. My heart started to pound, hard enough out of my chest to feel visible to the naked eye. He turns around and the endless swirls of chocolate stared into me, making it hard to move. As cheesy as it sounds, time honestly felt frozen. Giving me time to see the way his lips curve into a smile, leaving dimple kisses on both cheeks. A soft but rough outer shell of skin covered him. "Hey--"
A deep, soothing voice brings me back to the moment as the guy bends down, picking up my sketchbook "-- I think you dropped this". I open my mouth waiting for something to come out, but instead, It was like the feeling of love choking me, too hard for me to bare. "Y-y-yeah. Thanks.." I managed to squeeze through my larynx. I reach for my book without losing eye contact. My fingers slightly touch his and already I felt my face burn hotter than the core of the sun, at 15 million degrees. I strap my art to chest with my pinched arm, slowly turning to get ready to run away sheepishly..
"You're welcome. What's your na--"
"Got to go!" I quickly spit out, cutting off his sentence. Leaving too quickly to hear if the boy ever responded. As I unsteadily sit in my concealed desk in the back of the room, I try to recall everything that occured moments before. I lean back in my chair. Allowing the hostile surface press against me, slowly breathing in.. and out.. I lift my shaky hands to fit parallel to my face. Almost admiring the creases created in my palms from always bending them. The creases reminded me of the boy's smile. My face started getting hot again, the feeling went as deep as the pores in which the hair on my skin laid. What is wrong with me? I thought. He's just some boy you bumped into. No one important. So I tried, at least to deceive my own mind.
I found myself thinking of those 3 mins in the hall, for the rest of the day and night.
Chapter 2: (Boy)
I watched the hands tick.. tick.. tick. My foot starts to tap on the smooth gray and white marble underneath me, getting anxious every minute. Finally, the room fills with unpleasant singing. In a hurry, I gather my papers and placed them in my aged folder. I've had this folder for years and it's still just a useful as when I first bought it. Minus the fact that it's lost its "Honeymoon glow".
I stuff it in my backpack and swiftly move to the door of the classroom, then exiting. "Grayson! Over here man!" Nolan's voiced echoed through the halls, instantly grabbing my attention. I let my feet carry me over to him, joining the huddle of my dorky friends.
"Where were you this morning? I didn't see you in Mr. Wilcox's class" ,Nolan commented my way.
"Oh yeah, I just arrived to school late. Did I miss any work?" I replied.
"Besides some notes, but you can copy mine during lunch"
"Okay, sounds good man. How many pag--" ,Before I could ask my question, I felt a firm hit in the back. In a quick manner, I turn around and there standing was this pure beauty. The way her iris' sparkled, left me in awe. Aquamarine crystals or even the depths of the Pacific Ocean couldn't compare to her eyes. With lovely sun spots covering the bridge of her nose and under her eyes. I noticed she had dropped her book.. "Hey, I think you dropped this".
"Y-y-yeah. Thanks.." Her voice came out with hesitation and edgy, though at the same time she spoke so sweetly. I couldn't help but find it adorable. I pushed the girl's book toward her. She reached for it and slowly her silky finger tips grazed mine. Her expression remained stationary.. "You're welcome. What's your na--"
"Got to go!" She said. I wanted to catch up with her but before I knew it, she was already gone..
