Yami's P.O.V
I don't know which would be worse. Losing my mother...or seeing her die in front of me...by father...I was so young. I knew nothing about this. I didn't even know what death was...or what it felt like...because I'm still alive.Father just told me that he put mother to sleep...and I believed him. I questioned the blood that leaked out of her chest...he said it was nothing...and I believed him. I believed everything he told me...I even believed that the outside world was dangerous...with creatures that wore white silk and shone like the sun were dangerous to our clan...why did I believe that? Because father told me. Why did I believe him? Because he's my father. I'm supposed to believe him, right?
Well. Not anymore. He left me out in the open forest because of him...to die...he left me to die of the bright creatures. Or so I thought...
It was a clear, moonlit night.
Yami sat under a tree in the forest, crying for help. He called for someone...anyone to come and help him. He did not know why his father would leave him in the forest. Nor didn't he know how he could be able to get home.A twig snap could be heard nearby, making Yami even more afraid.
"W-Who's there!" He yelled with a shaky stutter. He curled into a ball as he backed away closer to the tree behind him.
"I-I'm warning you! Y-you better c-come out!" Light footsteps were heard coming towards him. He could see a faint light illuminate from behind the bushes until a head popped out. Yami became petrified. The person came out from behind the bushes. Yami inspects the person from his position.
It was seen to be female. About Yami's age. Her clothes were of white silk and she shone bright like the shining sun. Her hair, white as snow, was long. Reaching just below her lower back. Her eyes were of a bright blue that glistened in the moonlight. Their eyes connected.
"W-Who are you..?" Yami asked, still with a shaky stutter. The little girl became cautious and hesitant as she said her name.
"Hi..kar...i...my name is Hikari..." She says slowly.
"A-are you gonna h-hurt me...?" He asked. Hikari gasped at this question.
"Hurt? I would never!" She yells.
"But...father said something about creatures in white silk and shone like the shining sun were dangerous...you look like what he described..."
"What are you saying? My kind wouldn't hurt a fly. And we're not creatures thank you very much!"
Yami became speechless. Could it be that his father lied? No. This has to be all wrong. He always believes his father. He would never lie. Or...or so he thought...
"What about you?..." Hikari asked.
"Huh?." Yami responds.
"Are you going to kill me?." This caught Yami way off guard.
"No...I don't kill anyone.." Was Yami's answer.Hikari's P.O.V
Mother wouldn't lie to me. Would she? After all, she is the one who raised me. I obeyed everything she tells me. Of course you could say that I'm a very credulous person. Whatever my mother told me, I believed. She told me to stay in the village and never wander off in the forest. I obeyed and believed her when she said it was a dangerous place.
She told me a story about the creatures of the Dark. Dangerous she told me. They're very easy to identify...
If I were to see a creature with silk as black as darkness and aura as dull as fog that trails behind them as they walk, I must run.
So why didn't I do that the first time I met Yami?
Hikari was in search of her missing ball. It ended up somewhere in the forest and she had the guts to go in. She forgot about her mother telling her to stay out of the forest because it was dangerous."Where are you..." She mumbles to herself.
A few hours pass by...she still hasn't found her ball. She felt like giving up and going home. Though the question is...where is home?...Hikari searched for a way to get home by using the sun.
But the sun has already started to set into rest. Hikari became lost...
Until—
"W-who's there!" A shaky voice yells.
"I-I'm warning you! Y-you better c-come out!" And Hikari. Being the one person to obey, came out from behind a few bushes.
A young boy could be seen sitting under a tree. His clothes were silk, black as darkness. Aura as dull as fog luminates from his feet. Hikari was left speechless at how he looked.
His sapphire blue eyes sparkle in the moonlight as his short, black hair flew in the evening breeze. He looked frightened.
"W-who are you...?" The boy asked. Hikari was hesitant. She didn't know if she could trust this boy with her name. Especially since this boy has the same description her mother told her.
But of course, she answers anyway..."Hi..kar...i...my name is Hikari..." She says slowly. This boy asks another question. One that caught her off guard. One that made her gasp.
"A-are you gonna h-hurt me...?" He asked.
"Hurt? I would never!" Hikari yells, obviously both enraged and annoyed.
"But...father said something about creatures in white silk and shone like the shining sun were dangerous...you look like what he described..."
"What are you saying? My kind wouldn't hurt a fly. And we're not creatures thank you very much!"
Hikari felt saddened. Could it be that her mother lied about these creatures? No. This has to be all wrong. She believes every word her mother said was right. There was never a time where her mother lied. She would never lie. Or...or so she thought...
"What about you?..." Hikari asked.
"Huh?." The boy responds.
"Are you going to kill me?." Hikari waited patiently for an answer. By the looks of things, the boy was taken aback.
"No...I don't kill anyone.." Was his answer.Hikari breathed a sigh of relief. She then approaches the boy.
"H-hey. Stay back. I-I still don't trust you coming n-near me!" The boy backs away closer to the tree. Hikari stands in front of him then sits down.
"You still haven't told me your name yet." She said. The boy facepamls himself, obviously feeling like an idiot to not introduce himself.
He takes out his hand as if wanting a handshake.
"My name is Yami Kage. A fellow villager of the Dark Clan." He says. Hikari holds her hand out, connecting it with Yami's as they shake.
"Hikari Akarui. Daughter of a Shogun in the Light Clan." Hikari responds. Yami smiles at her.
"Its nice to meet you, Akarui-Sama."
"Please. Hikari is alright."
They share a laugh.
