Preface:
One question asked toward many topics or happenings is—What actually happens when someone lets the truth slip out?
1. Do you own it?
2. Do you pretend it was never heard and salvage your pride?
3. Or do you confront the truth with the person contributing the lie?
There are many ways people handle these things. But answer me this one question– How do you react to the truth of being pregnant? Yes, pregnant. Pregant no less, barely under the age of sixteen. Understand no one knows that you're pregnant except you and one other. Lies are strewn accusations are assumed; yet there you stand with the truth occupied beneath your very own shirt.
To help you decide I'll tell you what I would do; I would stand tall and wait. That's right I would wait. Wait until that very evening when finally, The Truth Comes Out...
I stood gawking at my reflection in the body length mirror. It's funny how quick your life can change from one little mistake. I knew now that there was no turning back, no denial allowed toward this 'situation' any longer.
I took one last glance at myself in the fully body mirror, then shifted my eyes back down to the object dangling from my hands. I knew it, this was really happening. My life was officially over before the age of sixteen.
