(Person 1)
He looked out the window and wondered, why is it so dark? His eyes shift away from what he thought to be the window. When they came and woke him up they said it was 8 am, so then why does he only see black? The questions run rampant in his head.
His smile never faltered when others asked how he was, but deep in his mind, everything was being eaten away. He was never told why he had lost the light in his eyes, not by the doctors or the people who came to visit. No one would tell him who he was or why his light was gone.
He slowly began to understand where he was and what was happening. He was in a hospital, and he had gone blind. He didn't know why he was blind but based on whispers and muttered phrases he knew he was, and that it was never coming back.
The last thing he remembered was a blurry gummy smile. He knew it was important to him, but he couldn't remember who it was or why he felt such a strong pangs of love, hurt, and sorrow when he saw it. Why couldn't he remember?! Why does he feel such an attachment to it, like something was left undone?!
"Why do I feel like I've destroyed the person that smile belonged to...?"
