Y/N'S POV
As I stood beside T'Challa, guess who decided to walk into the throne room? The one and only Nakia. It was not hard to tell that Nakia still had an interest in T'Challa, but it was really starting to cloud his judgements a little.
Sometimes, he would dismiss stuff that Nakia would do to get his attention, but it was wrong when I said something to Nakia. I am his wife, so you would think I would receive the better amount of respect!!Nakia bowed to T'Challa and he bowed back saying,"Nakia, it is good to see you. Are you all right?"
I blurted out,"You didn't ask me that this morning."
T'Challa turned to me and Nakia said,"You shouldn't be so disrespectful, Y/N. T'Challa is your king."
I chuckled and explained to Nakia,"He is also my husband who should have my back when I need him to, instead of the woman whose priority is me rather than her own. However, lately, it doesn't feel that way."
I looked T'Challa dead in the eyes and he said,"We're going to talk about this, Y/N."
I asked him,"And do what, T'Challa?"
T'Challa sighed and said,"To work this out. I don't want you to leave. I..I didn't mean to cause you so much pain. Y/N, please stay and we can talk."
Once I turned, I made the mistake of looking at T'Challa. I gave into that face that had placed hope in many people's hearts, yet it was the face of the man who I knew I wanted to marry one day.
I nodded and T'Challa smiled, before he took my hand.
He led me outside of the kingdom and said,"Y/N, I do love you and I'm truly sorry for the way I've been treating you. I need you here. You keep me in line. You care for me. You'll stay with when I'm feeling down. Y/N, there aren't many women who would do that, that truly care about their significant other. Y/N, what am I doing wrong?"
I held back tears and admitted to T'Challa,"You..You rarely spend time with me ever since Nakia came here. You always brush off what she says to me, even if they are hurtful. You tend to take her side and try to talk me out of getting upset. T'Challa, I know you mean well but it feels like she is more of your wife than me. I feel like I'm just an acquaintance to you."
A couple of tears fell down my face, and I could tell T'Challa realized that it truly did hurt me.
T'Challa cupped my face and looked me in the eyes saying,"Y/N, I..I'm still learning and I'm trying to be a better king than my father. Maybe I got too caught up in that to focus on taking care of you, which is never all right. I appreciate you being honest with me and I have no doubt I have done all those things. I will try much harder to stop and focus more on you. You will always be my wife, and Nakia won't take that from you. You're the one I can kiss, cuddle with, talk to, and lay with. Nakia, I can't do those things with. Understand?"
I nodded and T'Challa rested his forehead against my own saying,"You don't know how much guilt I feel right now. I'll make it up to you. Y/N, I love you so much, My Queen."
I smiled and replied,"I love you so much more, Black Panther. So much more."
T'Challa chuckled and kissed me, before I kissed him back. T'Challa and I remained in the kiss for a while, but then he had to break it. I hit T'Challa's shoulder and he just smiled at me.
He said,"You seemed a little nervous, my dear. Were you about to faint, N/N?"
I said,"No, of course not. Why would you think that?"
When T'Challa turned, I caught my breath and stood up tall when he turned back around.
T'Challa led me back into the kingdom and Nakia noticed T'Challa and I. She looked angry and that was what she got. I was his wife and she was a friend. I preferred acquaintance for Nakia's description.
