CHAPTER 4

"Today is THE DAY!"

When: Summer 2014

Where: Los Angeles, California

Time: 8 pm

Today is THE day! It is now or never, make or break, you either see the glass as half empty or half full, no room for error and we definitely have to bring our A game. Yes, I feel like an idiot telling our band all these nonsense. (What can I say, I'm very nervous right now and I think you can forgive me if I do something stupid.) I struggle to give an inspiring or uplifting speech to the band before we go on.

Indeed you thought right if you already know that we are almost performing, we are here at the Vans Warped Tour backstage, hearing Forever the sickest kids sing "She's a lady and ladies shouldn't be messed with" while warming up and are trying to control our very fast trail of thoughts. After FTSK performs, meaning after 30 minutes, we are taking the stage.

A Call To Action is taking the stage in half an hour! Can you believe that? I do not know how to feel right now. The nerves and butterflies are really making their presence known.

Distract me please....Ah, I know! Let me tell you what happened before we got here.

We woke up around 8 am -ish due to the excessively loud ringing of Andre's cell phone. The call was from Raven suggesting we come down to have breakfast and hear the itinerary for today. After washing our faces and brushing our teeth we did, finally, go down.

Breakfast was being served at a conference hall, the room was big with 4 long tables (you know the rectangular ones with benches on its sides) at the center, the windows were really big too kinda like the ones you see in castles and their curtains were neatly balled up as to let the sun shine in.

Like I said breakfast was buffet style, which can only mean one thing, the management really designed it for all of us to mingle and socialize with each other. (YES!) You see grabbing food from a buffet table prompts you to be in a line and sometimes you bump in to people while in the line, forcing you to start a conversation with them, subtle yet very effective! It is a classic trick, one in the books.

So due to the four long tables, we didn't try to look for seats because surely we had to sit beside some random musician! (Very EXCITING for me indeed! I wonder who I get to sit with, I hope he's nice.)

So Pearl was first where the line ends and you know who's right in front of her, guess......hahahahaha It was that dude from before you exit, yeah the Conner kid (Vocalist). And true enough while he was grabbing bacon from the dish, the one that heats the food while you wait, he elbowed Pearl's arm unintentionally. And that my dear readers was the start of a beautiful friendship between Pearl and Conner! Yeah, lucky girl indeed.

Well after that we went to go look for vacant spots at the different tables, and again true enough, we were seated in random places. Garder was lucky, she found a spot where not many people have seated yet....but after a minute Hunter (guitarist and backing vocals) from We the Kings sat right beside her and from the looks of it he started a conversation with her. (Smooth Hunter, Very smooth!)

The managers and crew were seated at a different table so Elle and Darci couldn't sit with Michael and Andre, so they sat together in the space exactly fit for two and they were between Austin Gibbs and Chris from NevershoutNever. (Awesome!) From my view they look friendly to me because as soon as they sat down Chris said something funny and they were all laughing.

Pearl went to sit beside Conner and as for me, well I sat next to Chizzy (Guitarist) of The Academy is...he was really nice because he's the one who offered for me to sit there. Breakfast was Awesome!
