Chapter 21: Another Life

* Kennedy's POV *

Sitting in the bathroom & watching the clock. Seemed like time was taking longer it ever had in my life. The alarm buzzed. I walked over on the counter to the pregnancy test which was laying there. Closing my eyes & picking it up, I didn't know what to expect. There, in front of me were the words: PREGNANT. I couldn't believe it. Although, me & Kendrick didn't plan this.. It was happening & I was excited. I ran into the bedroom.

Kennedy: Kendrick!!!!

Kendrick: What? What took yo ass so long in the bathroom? Taking a shit?

Kennedy: NO! I was scheduling you're dentist appointment.

I started laughing.

Kennedy: But bae, I have to tell you something.

Kendrick: Yeah?

Kennedy: Baby Duckworth.

I started smiling. Kendrick rolled over.

Kendrick: When the time is right, yeah. We can make all the babies you want.

Kennedy: NO! We're actually having a baby, like now.

I put the test in front of him. He stared.

Kendrick: Damn, thought you were on the pill?

Kennedy: I was dumbass... 2 years ago!

Kendrick: Oh. Well, this for real? Like you sure?

Kennedy: Well, my period is 3 weeks late & I've pissed on every test. Sounds accurate.

Kendrick rolled me over top of him. He started smiling.

Kendrick: We're having a baby, huh?

Kennedy: Yup. Excited?

Kendrick: Hell yeah. Bet it a boy.

Kennedy: A girl!

We shared a kiss. I couldn't wait. Me & Kendrick would be bringing a life into the world. A mini version of us both. It was only the beginning.
