This was it.

She was gonna see him again, after all these years. A chill ran down her spine just at the thought of it, just seeing him again. He made her suffer all these years. When she was supposed to have a normal childhood she was forced to grow up. Her joyful years left her too fast.. too early.

Her mother wouldn't want this to happen to her, anything but this. Rain started to gently fall onto the roof of the car, the soft pitter patter noise against the metal soothed her slightly. This car ride was taking her to hell, she was only about and fifteen minutes in but she built up enough anxiety to make her suicidal.

She never wanted this car ride to end. She thought of the alternatives, running away escaping from her life and problems, that wouldn't work he had too much power. That power would get her into a death penalty if she was found. All she could do was sit and go along with it. What she always had to do and was still expected to do.

Two raindrops landed on the window, they're racing, her thoughts flashed to the nostalgia of her childhood, before her life was tainted. She wished she could turn back the clock to then before her life was utterly and completely … destroyed. Her mind flashed back to that day that horrid day which ruined her. She tried passing it by, but her mind flashed to darker times, seeing the casket being lowered into the ground, never to be seen again.

A million waterdrops flooded her eyes. She tried to blink the tears away. Don't cry. Be brave. You made a promise.

The water moved closer. No blink more. Closer, closer, slowly inching forward. She squeezed her eyes shut until she saw red.

“You ok dear, you're quiet” her aunt Lacy said.

“Huh yea “ she replied sorrowfully, the biggest lie she ever told.

“ I tried I really tried, I wanted you to stay with me till you left for university but…” she sighed, “Listen I know it's hard, I really do, we weren't expecting this it was just so out of the blue and i'm sorry, I really am you shouldn't have to go through this”. She said sympathetically.

The kindest person she ever met and the only one who ever cared for her.

Be strong, it's ok , you'll get through this, whispers of the past came back to her. Not one drop of sympathy in their words.

Betrayal, hurt many things but never sympathy.

Pitying yourself does nothing she whispered to herself.

“Don't be sorry, it’s not your fault any of this happened.” She sadly said back to her.

They didn't talk after that, trying to avoid the fact that in just a few hours they would leave each other. Not knowing if they would ever meet in real life again.

The car ride seemed to be a fantasy. Everything, it all felt surreal like it was just a dream and it was going to end soon. But it wasn't.

She twisted in her seat and glanced at her phone which rested on her thigh. A small white dot blinked alerting her that she had a text. Reluctantly, she picked up the phone, it read:

Natalie: Hey how're you feeling :(

5:10 pm

I should probably reply in a while…

Natalie was her closest friend they knew each other since they were five years old.

They basically grew up together. They knew everything about each other. The deepest secrets….

Me: Hey, bad i guess.

5:50 pm

Natalie: You wanna talk about it?

6:00 pm

Me: No it's ok.. I just need some time by myself.

6:05 pm

Natalie: Ok i will leave to that, but i’m here if you need me :)

.6:10 pm

Me: Thanks :)

6:15 pm

She did want to talk but she felt best to keep to herself at the moment. A little while past by and it started getting later.

“I don't think we're gonna make it, we may need to stop for the night.” Lacy said.

After a few lengthy phone calls and some arguing she finally was able to take a stop for the night.

“ I guess we're gonna have to stop by a motel, I know one close by.” Lacy informed her.

After about ten minutes of driving and a stop at a gas station they arrived at the motel.

“Wake up” Lacy said lightly shaking her.

She opened her eyes to see a flashing sign and a familiar sight.
