there was a flame in your heart that levi had never seen in anyone else before.

it coursed through your veins, shook through your bones, and burst through every single part of your body.

the way you moved was with such confidence, it was like a ember taking down everything in it's path.

and on the battlefield, you scorched through napes of titans like a forest fire.

but it was not just a tool of destruction.

you radiated warmth and joy, making watery puddles form in his heart whenever you were near.

you were the complete opposite of levi's icy cold disposition.

and he absolutely loves it.

he loves when you would try to high five him after a titan kill, a childish grin on your glowing face.

he loves when you ushered him out of his office, allowing him take a breathe of real fresh air.

he loves when you bring him coffee when he does his work, no matter the lateness of the hour.

he loves you.

and one day he finally told you those words, about the feelings he had building within him for years.

when you pulled him in for a kiss, his ice melted away, his arms wrapping around your torso. he felt something that felt so real it felt like it was never going to end.

until it ended.

some people think fire is the most powerful weapon of destruction, but levi knows it isn't.

for when he saw you, hanging out of a titan's mouth, your fire was put out.

and all there was was water, dripping from the sky, dripping from your eyes, asking him to light it again.

but he couldn't do anything, as he watched your life fade from your [e/c] orbs.

rain wasn't the only water staining his cheeks as he absolutely obliterated the abnormal, slicing at it mercilessly with his swords.

but that wasn't the only weapon he was using.

levi now had a fire of his own, coursing through his veins, shaking through his bones, and bursting through every part of his body.

in reality you were gone, but in his heart you were there.

you were dead, but kept on living.

with a fire burnt out in you,

but within him, your fire kept burning.

[a/n: for my first story i wanted to make just a short, simple drabble with a recurring theme, but i ended up rushing the writing and i don't feel 100% satisfied with it, but hopefully you guys' still liked it! the next imagines will be longer, so please leave a comment if you enjoyed it and which characters you'd like me to do next!]
