Fortunately there was no heavy traffic and Forth was able to cover the distance in a short matter of time. He mindlessly stationed his bike on the street, there was only one thing on his mind; Beam. A flurry of neon lights and people chatting amongst each other, became a cacophony of jumbled sounds and colors as he dashed down the street, bumping into several people in the process.
He arrived just in time to see Beam pushing Kit behind him before being back handed, causing him to tumble down on the floor.
A heavy rage built inside him and he curled his fists. He didn't give the other guy time to defend himself or speak. He launched towards him and started pummeling him into a bloody pulp. He only stopped briefly to utter a few words.
"You made a mistake going after my friends, and an even bigger one hurting my wife." Forth would have continued punching the living daylights out of the guy, except that Beam ran towards him and started tugging at his left arm.
"Forth, stop! It's enough!" Beam's voice cracked as he held back his tears, he was scared. There was so much blood and he didn't know if it belonged to Forth or the other guy. He didn't want things to become much worse, and the guy that was beaten up by Forth had already passed out from all the heavy blows.
"Forth", Beam murmured anxiously. It seemed to snap Forth out of his trance. Beam gently grabbed Forth's hands and placed them on his face. "I'm okay", Beam looked over to his friends. Pha had gathered Wayo in his arms and was holding on to him tightly. While Ming was crouching down on the floor, holding the right side of his ribs. Kit was fussing over him and he could see Ming enjoying the attention he was getting from his boyfriend.
Beam looked at Forth once again, "We're okay. Really."
Beam flinched when Forth ran his thumb across the side of his mouth. With everything going on Beam had forgotten about the small wound. It wasn't like it was anything serious and would most likely heal in a couple of days.
Forth didn't want to increase Beam's worry and hid his anger seeing the side of his split lip. It was his fault Beam had gotten hurt. Whatever trouble he was experiencing or his friends in the engineering faculty were having with a rival school, there was no reason why Beam had to get dragged into it. He let out a heavy sigh and embraced Beam.
Beam stroked Forth's back soothingly. They stayed like that for a long time.
Eventually, they untangled themselves from each other. Forth stood up before helping him.
Forth continued to hold his hands while avoiding his eyes.
"Beam, it's all my fault. If it wasn't for me, you would all be fine." Forth admitted. He was ashamed and...
He was worried. What if Beam decided that dating Forth wasn't worth the trouble? Forth couldn't stomach that train of thought. Not having Beam in his life didn't sit right with him. The logical side of his brain was telling him that Beam had the right to choose whether to stay with him or breakup. His heart however, didn't want to give Beam the chance to do that.
He didn't care if he was being selfish or possessive. Forth didn't think he could handle watching the love of his life walk away from him.
Beam could see that something else was troubling his boyfriend. Did Forth think he was mad? Wait a minute. Was he annoyed that he had to come save him?
He felt a sharp pain in his heart. Was Forth considering breaking up with him?
Beam let go of Forth and turned his back. If Forth wanted to end things with him, then...
Several tears ran down the side of his face.
Forth felt a heavy feeling settle in his gut as Beam turned away from him.
