Black. Darkness. Emptiness. That's all Lance could see. He reached out to find his bayard, unable to see where his hand was wandering. His hand came in contact with the handle. He grabbed it, aimlessly shooting. He heard the loud thud of his enemy, now dead, hitting the floor. Lance curled up in a ball, tears running down his cheeks as the darkness never went away.

Keith landed on the uncharted planet, quickly exiting his lion to find Lance. Lance had run off in the middle of the night, heading to Earth. Keith ran through the jungle, cutting down plants with his sword as he went.Keith tripped, his sword flying out of his hand. His sword slid across the ground, stopping next to Lance's foot. Keith quickly got up, running to Lance's side. "Lance, Lance wake up! Lance, c'mon. Wake up."
There were long, deep claw marks around Lance's eyes. Lance stirred in Keith's arms, "Who's ... who's there?"
"It's me, Keith. Lance, what happened?"
"Keith, I ... I can't ... I can't see anything. Everything's just ... black."
Tears had started to roll down Lance's cheeks again. Keith quickly wiped them away, "Hey, don't cry. Don't worry. You'll be fine, it'll be fine. We'll get you to the castle and into a healing pod and you'll be fine."
Keith lifted Lance up, putting Lance's arm across his shoulders. He helped Lance to the Red Lion.
"How did you find me?" Lance asked as Keith lowered him onto the floor.
"Pidge tracked down the escape pod you took." Keith answered.
"How did you guys know I left? I thought it would have taken longer."
"I ... I went into your room to apologize but you were gone."
"Oh. Are we in a lion? It feels like a lion."
"Yeah, we are. We're in my lion."
Lance chuckled as Keith took off, flying into space, "You don't have a lion anymore, remember? You left."
"The red lion is my lion, Lance. And I had my reasons for leaving, you can't be mad at me for it."
"The red lion is my lion! You cant just take Red from me!"
"If I'm not mistaken, the red lion was originally mine."
"You just can't handle me having something you don't, can you Mullet?"
"Oh, now there's the Lance charm."
Lance smiled weakly, "Keith, I'm scared. What if ... what if my vision is gone forever?"
"You'll ... no, we'll get through it. Together. But it'll come back, Lance."
"Together? Oh, I see. You have a crush on me."
Keith blushed, "Shut up, Lance. That couldn't be farther from the truth."
Lance's tone saddened, "So then, you do hate me?"
"No. I don't hate you, Lance. I didn't mean it."
"Okay."

Days passed and still the paladins waited for Lance to wake up. Keith stayed by Lance's side only leaving to train and get his anger out. The marks across Lance's eyes stayed, healing to look like the scar across Shiro's nose. Keith was worried the blindness would remain.Keith was pacing by the pod, becoming scared of the damage that Lance had been inflicted because of him. The pod door opened, making a hissing sound as it did. Lance's body fell forward, still weak, and Keith caught him.
