Mina
I wake up with a groan. My alarm clock made weird sounds annoyingly. Why do I do this to myself ?
Every night I choose the alarm I find most annoying and then I put it across the room, forcing me to walk across the room to get it, waking up in the process.
I trudge slowly to the bathroom, scratching my neck, stretching, and yawning as I go. I brush my teeth quickly, loving the taste of mint.
I stare at the mirror, hair wild and eyes bright. I look like the wolf that I am. I am not particularly beautiful but I'm nice looking, i'll give myself that.
Werewolf genes make me fit and strong. But I look different.
Where everyone else is tan, I am pale. I didn't inherit my mothers smooth, perfect skin, or my fathers height.
I have wild, untamable black hair, and striking gray eyes. My parents say I look like my grandmother, but I've never met her.
I dress quickly in a black t-shirt that says "Auto-correct can go straight to Hell." I love this shirt so much.
I wish I was bold enough to say things like this but I guess I was never important or interesting enough to be tolerated.
I finish dressing in some black skinny jeans and black converse. I throw my hair into a messy bun in top of my head and walk downstairs.
My parents remain silent. I can feel the disappointment radiating off of them in waves. My mother I was never as girly as she would like and as for my father is I was just never what he wanted, and that hurt my mom, and made her hate me more.
I ate my toast and drank my juice quickly and quietly, I almost puked in my mouth when the left behind taste if mint mingled with the orange juice. I know I screwed my face up when my mother said
"Amina, keep making that face it will freeze that way."
"Just like yours mom, Botox should only go wrong once before you try it again." I grumbled under my breath.
"What was that dear?" she asked, her eyes narrowed into slits
"Nothing mother." I replied coolly. I walked out if the room stiffly and ran to my car. Thank god the prissy witch got one for my birthday. Just one more birthday until I can leave.
My car is a white Mustang GT with blue decal stripes down the middle. I love her she's very fast. she tops out at 170 mph and I push her to the limit every chance I get. I drive as fast as I can, not getting enough time to get to full speed. The tires squeal as I make a sharp left turn, parking perfectly in the spot right in front of the school.
It's been a long time since I've drawn attention to myself. I'm invisible and plain, making me fade easily into the background.
I walk into my first class at the exact minute it started. Thank god because a minute later the teacher would've yelled at me about it all class.
I take notes vigorously for the next 3 class periods. I eat lunch in the bathroom stall next to the wall. My mother insists that I eat greens for lunch plain, everyday because she insists that I am overweight. So, I comply to keep the hag's mouth shut.
I grab my lunch out of my book-bag and race to the girls bathroom. I sit on one of the toilets and sit and eat my lunch silently. After 5 minutes I'm done and I go wander around the school building until my next class.
My classes race by quickly. I walk swiftly out of the building and into my car. I smile, and rev the engine a bit, loving the sound, before pulling out of the parking lot. I get home in no time. My wolf is whining to get out so I run out of the house. At the nearest tree I strip and shift into my beautiful gray wolf.
I run for hours, and miles until my muscles ache and my eyelids are heavy. I collapse into a ball and fall asleep.
When I wake, I start into a run but another wolf runs and pounces onto my back.
I shake them off of my back and snarl viciously. I turn around quickly facing a huge black wolf with bright yellow eyes. He lets out a low, guttural growl and snaps his huge canines at me.
A wave of power washes over me as he forces out
"Shift, NOW."
My wolf whined and I bare my neck in submission. He growls at me one more time then turns his head in a different direction, motioning for me to run in that direction. He ran behind me, snapping at my tail when I ran in the wrong direction. Soon enough we came up to a pack house.
Judging by the size if the werewolf next to me, he was an alpha. 3 men walked out of the house same size. They were all handsome, though one was clearly the oldest.
"How'd you find this one?" the tallest said.
"Running." the guy who attacked me and brought me here said curtly.
"Alex were gonna need a bit more than that. Why was she running, where is she from, things like that." the tall guy replied forcefully.
"I found her while she was asleep." That guy who attacked me replied.
One of the guys who was silent during this exchange said
"Well I'll take her to an empty room and explain everything to her." on that note he grabbed my arm.
Sparks traveled through my whole body.
Artemis, my wolf, who rarely talks to me said
"Mate, this is our mate." she chanted his over and over in my mind, her voice drowning out everything in my mind.
And apparently, I forgot how to breathe and I fainted. I fall to the ground, the darkness taking over my mind.
