(The media is Alexander)
It was finally here, Alexander's first day of collage. He had just moved into his dormroom that he shared with one other boy and he was a little nervous. He had already decorated and everything but was worried about who his roommate would be since they had already decorated their side of the room too.
(Alexander's side)(His roommates side)
Not too long after Alex had finished decorating another boy walked into the room. He was much taller than Alex, making the shy male nervous.
The brunette looked at Alexander with a look of confusion before remembering something. "Oh, you must be my roommate. Alexander, right?" Alex nods playing with his hands nervously. The boy stuck his hand out for a handshake. "Nice to meet you, I'm Blake." Alex hesitantly shook his hand, making Blake laugh. "You're really shy, aren't you?" Alex blushes and looks away. "Y-yeah, is there s-something wrong with that?" Blake shook his head. "Not at all, I just tend to point out the obvious." Alex nods a little, glad the other male wasn't teasing him about his shyness. "So, since we don't have classes on the first day want me to show you around?" Alexander nods. "Y-Yeah, I've never really s-seen a collage before." Blake smiles. "I really think you're gonna like it here."
Blake had shown Alex where his classes were gonna be and showed him all the important stuff. "I can't believe you have a cafe here!" Blake chuckles as Alex looks around the cafe.
"Yep, they decided to put a cafe in so students don't have to go far to get food or coffe to keep them awake. Plus it makes people feel a lot cozier and raises more money for the school." Alex finally calms down. "I really like the forest theme." Blake raises an eyebrow. "Really? You look more like a si-fi nerd than an outdoorsy type." Alex crosses his arms playfully. "You can't always judge a book by its cover." Blake chuckles and ruffles his hair. "Well said nerd." Alex acts all offended. "Excuse me sir, but I am a geek." Blake looks confused. "And what the difference?" Alex smiles a little. "I'm glad you asked. Geek and nerd are often thought to be the same thing when in reality they are quite different. A geek is someone who is an enthusiast of a particular field or topic. Geeks are "collection" oriented, gathering facts and mementos related to their subject of interest. They are obsessed with the newest, coolest, trendiest things that their subject has to offer. A nerd is a studious intellectual, although again of a particular topic or field. Nerds are "achievement" oriented, and focus their efforts on acquiring knowledge and skill over trivia and memorabilia." Alex blushed in embarrassment when he realized he had practically given his new friend a lecture on the difference between nerds and geeks. "S-sorry, I got a little carried away." Blazke laughs a little and holds Alex's shoulder. "Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're passionate about something." Alex smiles a little. "So uh, are we friends now?" He ruffles Alex's hair once again. "Definitely, you seem cool. Plus with a smart kid like you around I can just copy off your homework." This of course made Alex laugh, he knew it was a joke. "And with a jock like you around no one will mess with me." They both laughed and walked back to their dorm as it was getting dark. "You're awesome Blake." Blake shrugs playfully. "I guess your ok... for a nerd." "Geek!"
