It had been a week since Kate had jumped off the roof of the school and another two weeks since Chloe had disappeared. With all this going on max hadnt left her room since Kate jumped. Everyone knew how much Max loved Kate but couldnt save her. Max would sit in her room staring at pictures of Kate and of Chloe all day hating herself for not being able to find Chloe and not being able to save Kate. Max would cry for hours on end until she was out of tears and could not cry. Everyone even Victoria who was an additive in Kates death along with Nathan and Mr. Jefferson.
Max you are such a horrible friend, you cant save anyone. Everyone hates you now. Im sorry Chloe. Im sorry Kate. Max shook as if she was cold. Bu this was a cold that she felt inside like ice had formed around her heart as if it was a shield protecting her from all feelings but sadness and anger. There was a knock on the door and a voice that she could not comprehend. The person waited a few seconds before knocking again.

Its open, Max says just loud enough for Victoria to hear her. Victoria opens the door not wearing her normal expensive clothes, no makeup not even her short, blonde hair is put like it normally is. Max can see the sadness in Victorias eyes, she can see just how hurt Victoria is. Max signals for Victoria o sit next to her on the floor by her bed. Victoria sits down and looks at the floor not saying anything. The two girls sit in silence for five minutes before Victoria starts crying. Max hesitantly put her arm around the short haired girl that was acting so different from normal.
Max, I know how much of a bitch Ive been to you and with Kate and I know that its too late to apologize but, Im sorry for all the times Ive made fun of you, for not being nicer to you, and I cant even begin to say how sorry I am for Kate. I know you loved her. Max just stares at Victoria who was being genuine.

Oh my god that took you long enough, Dana says panting and closing the door again. Max and Victoria start to laugh uncontrollably. They roll around on the floor until they are crying. Once they stop laughing Max lays on the bed and signals for Victoria to lay with her. Victoria lays down looking into Maxs eyes.
