"Have you got everything" my mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Yeah just about" I replied with slight sadness in my voice, yeah I was excited about moving to a new town but extremely sad about moving on from this house, my friends... My dad and brother.

I zipped closed my backpack which had a book, phone, laptop, and their chargers so I wouldn't be bored on the 4h 35m flight from Chicago to LA. I took one last glance at my old room in the 'Windy City' and walked slowly out my room and down the hall where all the family photos along the wall used to be.

"It's too early can't we just catch a later flight" I complained when it was already past 11am.

"No Ellie, we've talked about this I got a better job offer over there and it will be good for us to move on you know? and stop complaining its 11am, you can sleep on the plane if your really that tired" My mom stated.

"Ughhh fineee" I again complained while dragging the last suitcase out the door of our now old house. "I'll be back in a minute I think I forgot something"

"Hurry up we were supposed to leave half an hour ago, but someone thought it was a brilliant idea to have a fashion show this morning" my mom chuckled.

"It wasn't a fashion show mom I was finding something comfortable to wear" I hurried back into the house and slowly walked around remembering all the good memories and bad, like when I was 6 and my brother 8, on one Christmas me and my brother raced down the stairs and me jumping on his back to carry me to the living room. Bad ones like when I fell down the stairs breaking my wrist and breaking a rib while eavesdropping on my parents talking about me I guess it wasn't that bad mostly funny now but then it wasn't ...it hurt like hell, but I still have the scar on my side from when I fell on one of my brothers toy thing . But coming home hurt and sad after the accident will definitely top the list of bad memories that will forever be with me.

"Have you finished touring the house yet we really need to go" my mom shouted from the cab waiting outside for me.

"Yeah I'm coming now" but I ran into mine and my brother's den it's defiantly changed over the years but I engraved our names further into the wood so we will always be there... me and him just like before our escape from the world. I removed the tear slipping from my eye with the sleeve of my grey hoodie"

Walking out that house forever is probably one of the hardest things I will ever have to do in my life. And getting into that taxi to the airport I was nearly crying but I guess starting new has to involve pain.
