At that moment

It was a cold rainy night when she was walking home from work. She was going home to her loving husband. She was getting super cold so she stopped to get coffee and something to eat, fore it was late at night. She then left the coffee house and was on her way home. When she arrived to her apartment complex she said hello to the front desk for whoever was working that horrible night. She was walking  up the stairs because the elevator was no longer working. She made it to her floor and started walking to her door. She thought it was quite strange when she saw the doors closed and that it was quite from the other apartments on her floor. Because everyone is usually talking and had their doors open for any other person who lived on the fourth floor. When she made it to her door she was struggling to get the door open because she was shivering from being out in the cold rain. When she was able to get the door open she saw what nobody ever wants to see in their life. She saw the whole apartment was trashed. Everything was broken, the vases, plates, glass, the mirror, even the pictures of her and her husband. It was at that moment she should have left, but she didn't leave because she went to her shared bedroom to make sure her husband was ok. She reached the room and saw the door was slightly opened so she assumed the worst. She made her way slowly over to the bed and saw her husband laying there with wounds all over his body. She went to check his pulse but she, disappointed, didn't find one.  She then walked cautiously to the kitchen to grab a knife in case the intruder was still inside with her.  She heard a noise and immediately ran into her closet to hide. Footsteps could be heard near-by so she covered her mouth and slowed her breathing in hopes of not being found. She looked underneath the door and saw the shadow stop right in front of the closet door.  She held her breath for seemed like eternity. She looked again underneath the door and saw the shadow was gone. She sighed in relief thinking  the intruder left. She heard and saw the door knob to the closet move and she moved deeper into the closet and hid behind some clothes. The intruder opened the door and she immediately put her hand over mouth. He searched but didn't find her, he then left but kept the door opened. After what seemed like forever she finally got up and slowly walked out of the closet. The intruder slowly walked up behind her and leaned in close "boo".
"Police have reported a murder in the apartment complex on Wall Street. They say the wife came home from work to find her husband dead with multiple stab wounds. The intruder then killed the wife after he found her hiding in the closet. The police have the intruder in custody after a local resident saw a suspicious man leave the apartment and will be  in questioning later on today. Thank you for watching."
