Alex POV
"Hey mom." I say opening the door.

She raises up a slightly from the bed, yawning and wiping her eyes.

"Hey sweetie, come sit." She yawns as she scoots over and I climb into the bed with her.

She wraps her arms around me and rest her chin on my head.

"Remember when you were a little boy and you used to run in here almost every night because you said you were afraid of the monsters?" She smiles.

"I don't think I remember that." I lie.

"Oh really? You don't remember?" She laughs.

"Hey come on, you gotta admit those were some pretty scary monsters." I say and we both laugh.

"Mom, are you okay?" I ask.

"Yeah, as long as I've got my babies I'll be fine." She says as she hugs me.

"Alex?" She says.

"Yeah mom?" I say.

"Why have you let your face get all prickly?" She laughs.

"I'm trying change it up a little, maybe grow a mustache." I say.

"You need to shave." She laughs.

"No way, this is the first time I can ever remember even being able to grow facial hair."

"I think there was a reason why." She laughs.

"Hey you never know, one day I might come around and have a full blown beard." I say.

"God I hope that day never comes." She says and we laugh.

I gets quiet for a second again.

"I'm going to miss him." I say.

"Me too." She says as she looks at me and then quickly looks back away.

"Um, is your sister up yet?" She says as she clears her throat.

She's trying to change the conversation. I understand though

"Yeah, I think her and Georgia are up talking or something." I say.

"Oh okay. Well are you hungry? I can make you guys something." She says.

"No it's fine mom." I say.

"No, it's okay I can. Please, just to give me something I can do." She says.

"I mean, yeah sure if you want to I guess." I say.

"Okay good, I'll fix you guys something." She says with a light smile.

I walk back out into the living room with Georgia and Gemma and take a seat on the couch with them.

"How is she?" Gemma ask me.

"Better than what I thought she'd be. I think she's trying to distract herself though. She says she's making us all breakfast." I say.

"She doesn't even eat breakfast half the time, never the less cook it." Gemma says.

"Yes but I guess when you need a distraction you take what you can get." I say.

"That's true I guess. I feel bad for her though. I feel like she's trying to cover it all up." She says.

"Yeah but there's nothing that we really can do about it besides just be here for her." I say.

Georgia POV
All of us walk into the kitchen as Anne finishes everything up. It all looks really good but I can only get one smell in before I feel sick again.
