A look of disdain rested on the young girls face as she looked up at the new house she'd be living in, it was too proper, too nice, too Northside. Just to clear things up for you, the town of Riverdale was split between two warring sides, the north and the south.
The Northside consisted of the richer more privileged people, the ones who grew up in proper houses, and knew that they would always have food and family to come home to after school, whereas on the Southside, the people lived in trailers, they got little to no work, and families rarely stayed together. These two, factions I guess you could call them, had been warring for generations, all because of the stereotypes placed upon the Southside from the Northside because of the Southside Serpents Gang.
Natasha 'Dizzy' Blanchard was born and raised in the Southside, her mother and father were happily married, that was until her father was shipped off to prison for his business with the Ghoulies, although the family was heavily associated with the Southside Serpents, the father and daughter being actual members of the gang and the mother just being around the constant Serpent business. Now, with her father in prison, her mother took it upon herself to move them over to the Northside to start a new life.
Now, Dizzy did not like the idea of living in the Northside, she was a serpent, she was self sufficient, she did not want to go to school and be around all the snooty Northsiders, whose parents did everything for them. She also knew there was the possibility of them shunning her due to her Serpent heritage.
She slowly made her way inside the house, carrying one of the only boxes of her items, she never owned much, she didn't care for material items, the only things she really owned where clothes and some books.
"See it's not that bad here, isn't nice to have a bit of extra space?" Her mother hummed at her, feeling a bit smug, knowing that this house was better than the trailer they lived in before. The only response she got from her daughter was a roll of her eyes before she trudged upstairs, dumping her box just inside the door of what would be her new room. Dizzy didn't care for the new house, the new space or freedom, she just longed for her father to be back, so she could go back to the Southside.
With a huff, Dizzy flopped onto her new bed, it was softer than any bed she'd ever slept on. She didn't like it. As she laid there she thought about how tomorrow would be, her first day at Riverdale High. She knew she was not going to like it, but she knew she was stuck there for now so she was going to try and keep out of trouble. Dizzy was already flustered at the thought of everything that would come tomorrow, laid in her bed, determined to make a friend tomorrow, because she knew that there was little chance that she'd be able to see her Southside friends anymore.
Hi anyone that's reading this! I just wanted to say that I am so excited to write this fic, and this chapter was just sort of an opening chapter and that over the next few chapters you'll get to know about Dizzy and her past a bit more.
