It had been the first week of summer vacation when Erica first suggested a trip to the pool to her boyfriend of two months, Brendan. Though hesitant at first, Brendan was eventually swayed by Erica's constant hints (and of his own curiousity of what she looked like in a swim suit).
They had planned it for Saturday, but it was Friday and Erica was kinda freaking out. She was tasked with answering the age long question, "do I wear a one-peice, or a bikini?" This of course was their first time seeing each other in such attire. Brendan on the other hand was completely relaxed. He, of course only had one pair of swim trunks so it didn't really matter.
Finally the long awaited day had come, and Erica had finally made her decision. She had decided on a bikini, because she figured that as long as it was only her and her boyfriend, it didn't really matter how much skin she had been showing. She also made sure that her parents were not home to discover her inviting a boy over to go swimming. It was already 1 P.M. and her parents had gone to her brother's baseball game (one she had to fake being sick to get out of), and Brendan was to be over in just thirty minutes.
She went ahead and put her bathing suit on. It was an orange bikini she had gotten not too long ago. It was a little tight on her, but not enough for other people besides her to notice. She had also put her sunscreen on beforehand, because she thought the idea of slathering herself in front of her boyfriend was a little risque, after all they hadn't even kissed yet.
Then she heard it. A knock on the door that could only mean one thing. Her heart beated a little faster as she went to answer it. One final look in the mirror in the hallway and she was ready. She went to the door and opened it. He was standing there trying to act casual at the sight of her bathing suit, but he could not help blushing a little. He himself had been wearing his black and yellow trunks with a white tee.
"H-hey," he managed to stutter, obviously a little flustered.
"Hi," she replied, a bit nervous also. The situation felt a bit awkward for the both of them. "Well come in'
"Oh, oh right haha," Brendan answered. "So which way is the pool?"
"It's right out back, come on," she insisted while gesturing her hand. When they got to the pool, Erica dived right in, a little shocked at just how cold the pool was. Brendan had been dreading this moment however. He finally worked up the courage to take off his shirt, nervous at what she might think. He flexed a little before lifting it up, hoping he could actually impress her a little.
When she saw him, she felt her face heat up. Though he had not been the buffest guy she had ever seen, he sure wasn't bad. He had sported a four-pack that she herself was surprised to see. He played baseball which kept him in shape, but she didn't think it would be this in shape. And his arms were something to gape at too. While shirtless, he actually looked like he went to the gym everyday and lifted weights.
The gawking finally ended when he decided to cannon ball right in front of her, the water splashed in her face made her wake up from her daydreaming. When he came up, the two's eyes had met, and by this point they were both blushing extremely. Brendan was the first to break the silence with a little bit of a giggle. Soon enough they were both busting out laughing at just how awkward the situation had been. But for the rest of the day, there wasn't a single awkward moment spent at the pool.
