Jungkook childishly whined after winning another round of super smash bros. "C'mon Jimin this is the only game you ever want to play and you never try anymore. Can you at least try to give me a challenge? For you're a favorite best friend..." Jungkook tried flashing his puppy dog eyes at Jimin.
Jimin scoffed in return. "Jungkook" Jimin sighed. "First of all, that's Jimin HYUNG to you" He glared making the younger giggle. "Second, only his eyes playfully while standing up. "I'm hungry let's go see what Mr. Min is cooking."
Jimin let's out a whimper as he stretches his limbs. "Oh yeah. I still haven't met him yet. Isn't it kind of weird that he's in his twenties and he's dating your mom?" Jungkook shrugged in response to the pink-haired boy. "I mean my moms only 37 and I guess he's open-minded. I'm just glad she found someone so she can stop complaining about my dad 24/7" Jungkook sighed earning a gentle pat on the back from his best friend.
Jimin got a text as they walked in the kitchen, he quickly checked his phone to see that it was his friend that sent a meme. He rolled his eyes at the picture and shoved his phone in his pocket. The second he looked up we were met by the eyes of who he assumed to be Mr. Min. I mean, who else would be in jungkook's house cooking up a meal.
Jimin suddenly felt nervous around the man. He was a little taller than Jimin, but because of his posture, he looked to be around the same height. He wore a long-sleeved crew neck sweatshirt with the sleeves rolled up and black skinny jeans. His outfit was complemented by a couple of authentic-looking bracelets, a watch, and a classy looking chain around his neck.
"Um, Hi Mr. Min. It's nice to meet you. My name's Jimin" Jimin bows quickly before shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you too Jimin. And just call me Yoongi Hyung. Jungkook does." He chuckled. Jungkook laughed at that. "Yeah right. I've been trying to tell him that for a week now and he refuses. He's into all of that formality crap." Jimin blushes and looks down.
"Oh stop. You're embarrassing your friend. How about you two go sit at the table. I'll be done with dinner soon." "Alright. Let's go Jimin."
The boys made their places at the table right next to each other. They talked about school and dance and discussed the hip-hop trio that they had been practicing with their friend Hoseok. Within minutes Yoongi appeared in the dining room with a pot of jjigae (Korean soup) along with some side dishes.
Jimin went to say grace but got interrupted by his friend. "Jimin you know you don't have to pray here" "right" Jimin laughed, embarrassment evident on his face. He didn't know why he was so on edge but he presumed it had something to do with the black-haired man across from him, currently staring into his soul with judging eyes.
"So, Mr. Min-" "Yoongi Hyung"
"Uh yeah... so, what do you do for fun other than cook?" Jimin asked awkwardly, scraping his plate. Yoongi sheared his throat. "Not much. I'm not a lot of fun." He looks Jimin in the eye while talking to him. It was intimidating but at the same time, it weirdly made him feel safe. Looking into Yoongi's eyes, Jimin saw a hint of pain. He didn't understand why but brushed it off. It was none of his business anyway.
After dinner, Jimin bowed to Yoongi, thanking him, before following jungkook up the stairs. "Dude, I think you made Yoongi feel old" jungkook laughed, flopping down on his bed. "Crap! Really?? I can't believe I made a bad impression already!" Jimin sighed, sitting down more gently than the younger. "Don't worry about it. I told you, he's cool. He'll get over it." Jungkook patted Jimin on the shoulder.
"You need to relax." He stated, gently rubbing the shoulder he'd patted. "Yeah I wish I could," Jimin explained, getting up and roaming to his backpack, leaving jungkook with a frown because of the lack of contact. You see, jungkook has had a crush on Jimin ever since he hit puberty. Once he figured out that he liked guys, he realized that his feelings for Jimin were a lot more than platonic.
"-But I have so much homework to do. I hope you don't get Mr. Cha next year. If I have to help you with this homework, then I think I'd just have to curl up in a ball under my covers for the rest of the year." Jimin chuckles. "Ugh. Jimin can't you just ask that one guy for help?" "What 'one guy' ?" "The one friend you made... taemin or something?"
"Ahhh Taehyung! I guess I could ask for some help. He's pretty nice." Jimin made a mental note to contact taehyung in the future. "He better not be too nice" jungkook mumbled under his breath. "Ugh stop being so overprotective!" Jimin laughs. "Trust me. I've never even been in a relationship. I'm not going to just mess around with some random dude in my calculus class." But Jimin was lying. He'd been in a couple of relationships before. He just didn't tell anyone about it.
"Well duh. It's not you I'm worried about. And I still don't understand that! How have you never dated anyone? So many guys, and girls, by the way, are into you." Jimin rolls his eyes. "Don't you think I would know if I had a bunch of guys lining up to date me?" "Maybe they just don't say anything because they know that you aren't really into relationships," jungkook says, pouting and playing with his fingers.
Jimin scratches the back of his neck in confusion, "I never said that.." and suddenly, then jungkook felt his heart flutter, that one sentence filling him with hope.
