Finally Since Forever

Kasey's POV
It's been forever since the Rysey breakup. Almost every Bronco had heard. The Valentine's Day Dance was coming in just a month and I clearly won't be going with anyone. I wish, though. Why didn't I just close my mouth? Jake was the past and the past is the past. Why didn't I get over him completely? I think it was because that day I saw everything I wanted in someone who wasn't who I thought he was. I believe if I hadn't said anything, I might've started getting attached again, but if I had... well, this happened.

RING!

I was in science, 3rd period. The bell rang and I jumped in my seat. Connor and Aaron laughed at me, and Isabel smiled. I was used to it, except I didn't know what the homework was. I panicked.

"What was the homework?!" I asked in a whisper.

"There is no homework, Mrs. Jensen," Connor replied with a smirk.

Ugh! What is wrong with that annoying guy? "Please stop calling me that. Ryan and I broke up last month. There's no reason to call me that anymore," I told him calmly, surprisingly.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. We all know you still like him," he said, making me blush.

It really sucks because I actually do still like Ryan a lot. I never planned on getting over him but lots of people suggested I do. Especially Kavina. Christian Nunez insisted either I try to get back with him or find someone else that's better. But the problem is, I wasn't sure how to find someone that's better than him. He's probably the best boyfriend I will ever have. But if another boy pops out of nowhere, suits the requirements (wait, what requirements?), likes me, and wouldn't leave me from a misunderstanding, then oh my gosh! I'd totally forget about Ryan and go for that new guy!

RING!

I jumped in my seat again. No one saw me this time because they were too busy trying to get out of class. That was probably the longest 6 minutes. Ever. I said bye to Mrs. Johnsen, walked out of the door, and headed towards Language Arts.

Time skip to lunch

Julie's POV
Yay... the lines have improved so much, I thought sarcastically as I waited for the line to move. The new lunch system isn't working at all! Instead, it took twice as long. Even though Kasey eats her lunch for a really long time, I had a feeling that she might be halfway done with her sandwich. Finally, I got my food. I walked over to Kasey and Faliha and sat down.

"Those lines are too long!" Kasey complained.

"Tell me about it," I rolled my eyes.

I noticed that Faliha wasn't talking much. I looked at her and her eyes seemed to be fixated on something... or someone. I turned towards the direction she was looking at and saw 2 people I have never seen before.

"Who are they?" I asked, a little attracted to the taller one out of the two.

"I don't know..." Faliha said barely audible.

"Who's who?" Kasey asked as she stuffed a piece of her sandwich in her mouth.

"Over there," I said, and both Faliha and I motioned for her to look over to where the 2 boys were.

Kasey looked at the boys. She had a look of shock on her face and a tiny piece of bread fell out of her mouth. Ew. I've never seen that happen before...

"Kasey?" Faliha said, waving her hand in front of Kasey's eyes. "Kaaasey!!" she repeated.

What is she staring at? Is Ryan where she's looking? I looked around the forum and saw Ryan looking at Kasey. Weird. I raised my eyebrow at him and he looked away. I wonder what that was about. She clearly wasn't looking at where Ryan was. And, Ryan had a strange look on his face while looking at Kasey... Wait a minute! Is he jealous? He can't be! Kasey kept saying how Ryan has moved on and that she'd been trying to get over him, but it seemed like neither one of them has moved on!

Suddenly, Joseph came over to me and dropped a note next to my backpack. Faliha and Kasey both didn't notice. Faliha was eating and Kasey was still frozen, staring at the boys. That's creepy. I picked up the note and it said:
"Hi Julie please don't tell Kasey that I was lookking at her please! She can't now! If you agree look at me and nod -Ryan"

It was written in extremely bad handwriting. He spelled "looking" and "know" wrong, plus, he wrote "please" twice. Maybe he was in a rush and wanted me to read it before I said anything to Kasey. I looked to where he was earlier and nodded. He gave me a grateful smile. I can tell why Kasey liked him so much. He can be cute sometimes, but he's not my type. I can keep his promise, although I didn't know what to do with the paper.

"What's that?" Faliha asked. Oh no!

"Huh?" Kasey blinked. "Where am I? That boy smiled at me!" She squealed.

She sounded as if she found a new crush. I looked over at Ryan for the third time and he gave me a sad look. I mouthed 'Sorry' at him and hoped that no one saw.

"Julie," Faliha said. "What's that?"

"Yeah! What is it?" Kasey asked.

"It's some old notes I have. I found it in my backpack," I lied. I felt so bad! I really don't like lying to my friends...

Time skip to 10 min before 5th

Kasey's POV
I haven't been able to stop thinking about that boy who smiled at me. I think he's new because I've never seen him before. Julie seemed to be hiding something from me but I let it go because it's probably none of my business. Koa's red bouncy ball smacked me on my head. Koa, Faliha, Julie, and Nhi giggled.

"Sorry!" Nhi called out.

"It's okay! Haha, I should've been playing with you guys instead of zoning out."

"Then let's hurry! There's not much time left," Faliha said.

Julie glanced at her watch, "What time does lunch end again?"

"5 more minutes!" Koa said loudly.

Oh my gosh! I wasted so much time thinking about that new guy!

"Kasey, are you playing or not?" Koa asked.

"Yeah, I was just... um, thinking," I hesitated.

We only got to play a little bit before the bell rang, signaling that lunch was over and that it was time for fifth period. Nhi and I started walking to class when I noticed Ryan talking to Jake. Ryan pointed at me. I narrowed my eyes at them and walked away. I wonder why they were talking about me... I slid into my seat and ignored Ryan's stare. Since when did he start caring about me again? My thought about Ryan got interrupted as the new boy walked in from outside. All eyes turned towards him.

Mr. Polentz said to us, "Everyone, this is Aramis, our new student. Aramis, please go sit next to Kasey. Kasey, please raise your hand so he knows where to go."

My face burned as I raised my hand. Aramis smiled shyly at me as he walked over and sat in the empty seat next to mine. I could feel Ryan's eyes watching my every move. I fidgeted because I felt weird that he was watching me. He was probably angry with me... but guess what? He can't do anything about it now. I was no longer his girlfriend. He can stare all he wanted, but nothing would happen. We broke up for a reason. I ignored Ryan's eyes and smiled back at Aramis.

"Hi, my name is Kasey."
