Ryan's POV
I watched Kasey and Aramis look at each other a couple times. I wanted her to be mine, not that new kid's! I was so close to being caught yesterday when Julie saw me watching her. I can't believe she moved on already. People told me she claimed she would "never move on from me" but that doesn't seem true. Look at her. Giggling cutely at some stupid joke. Why did I break up with her? Jake got in the way. I talked to Jake at lunch and he told me he never gave any attention to Kasey and I was actually furious. She doesn't deserve that! I gave her my attention. Well, most of the time, when I actually could. I swear if Aramis and her start texting, I will die inside. That reminds me of my conversation with Jake. I remember it really clearly:

Flashback
"I watched her stare at 2 new guys at lunch," I confessed.

"Are you obsessed or something? Dude, she doesn't care about you anymore. Do you not see these hundreds of girls here? Do you not know there are millions of girls in this world? She's one in a million; wait, 2 million plus. Pick carefully," Jake said.

"I know what happened between you and her."

"Who told you?"
"Kasey did."

"What did she say?"

"It's a long story, but we broke up because of it. She told me she still had feelings for you. I broke up with her because why would she have feelings for other people when she's already with me?"

"Maybe you're not good enough..."

I frowned.

"... just kidding. Maybe she's just someone like that," he continued.

"I don't know... whenever she told me she loved me, it felt so real."

"She told you that?" He raised his eyebrow.

"Text, I meant," I sighed.

"See. She never tells her boyfriends that she loves him in public. She doesn't call. She rarely texted me last time."

"I heard you just ignored her the whole 2 weeks."

"Well, maybe I did and maybe I didn't. That's none of your business."

"Jake. Did you really love her?"

"Explain what "love" is."

"Love is when you see everything you've ever wanted in a person who is who they say they are. Love is an 'intense feeling of deep affection'. I loved Kasey a lot. But I didn't text her all the time because I didn't want to seem desperate. I think she texted me almost every second she could, but that shows how much she loved me. She cared about you a lot. Why didn't you care?"

RING!

"You know what? Leave me alone. You keep getting into my business, I don't like it. Go find that freak girlfriend of yours, just go away."

"She's not a freak," I growled as I clenched my fists. "What is your problem? Look at how beautiful she is. Do you not understand the true meaning of beauty?" I asked, gesturing at Kasey. I saw her frown at us. I guess seeing both of her exes talking to each other doesn't make her happy...

After that, I walked into class. I watched Kasey to see any signs of sadness, any signs of heartbreak, any signs of regret. I found nothing. I sighed a second time. Either she's good at hiding her feelings or she has moved on. I'm hoping it's not the second choice because that would mean she has given up on me.

Then Mr. Polentz introduced the new boy, "Everyone, this is Aramis, our new student. Aramis, please go sit next to Kasey. Kasey, please raise your hand so he knows where to go."
