That Friday, Sofia, James, Elena, Isabel, Amber, and Hildegard waited by the entrance of the tiger park. Zandar, Derek, and Khalid were there, too. Amber and Hildegard wanted to go in the park right away, and they didn't understand why Sofia and the princes wanted to wait.

"Can't we just go in already?" Hildegard asked impatiently.

"We have to wait for Hugo, Axel, Roderick, Caleb, and King Garrick to get here, Hildegard," Sofia frowned. "Hugo is the one who started the club in the first place, and this is supposed to be Roderick and Caleb's first adventure with us."

"Besides, the rules of the park say that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times," James declared.

"Elena is 18," Amber protested.

"That's true, but it would be polite if we waited for our chaperone to get here with the other four members of the club," Elena said.

"Here we are," Hugo's voice rang out.

Hugo, Axel, Roderick, Caleb, and Garrick showed up on their flying horses.

"Are we ready to explore the park?" Garrick smiled.

Everyone cheered happily. The gates to the park opened, and everyone entered.

"Do you think Daisy and Sara will be here?" James asked.

"They have been working hard lately," Sofia said.

"Who are Daisy and Sara?" Caleb asked.

"They're members of the park's rescue squad," Hugo replied. "They keep the tigers and visitors safe."

"Well, why don't we stop by at headquarters and see if they're available?" Garrick suggested.

The young royals liked the sound of that. They walked around the park on the way to the rescue squad headquarters. Outside headquarters, there was a bulletin board with a banner.

"Who's Captain Stern?" Hildegard asked.

"He's the captain of the park's rescue squad," Sofia replied.

"But he won't be anymore," Hugo frowned.

Everyone saw the banner above the bulletin board, and it said, "We'll Miss You, Captain Stern!" On the bulletin board were photos of Captain Stern in the years he worked in the park.

"Is Captain Stern going on vacation?" Amber asked.

"I don't think so," Axel shook his head. "I think he's retiring."

"Mr. Jackson did say that Captain Stern has been working here for about 30 years," Hugo nodded.

Suddenly, Captain Stern's voice rang out, "Indeed, young majesty!" He was with Sara and Daisy.

"Hello, Captain," Sofia waved.

"Hello," Captain Stern waved. "It's true—I'm retiring. I must admit, I love working here, but I'm an aging man. I need to take it easy."

"Aw, do you know who's going to be the new captain?" Garrick asked.

"Great question—when I retire, Sara and Daisy will be the rescue squad's co-captains," Captain Stern smiled.

Everyone was happy for Sara and Daisy.

"Not too long after our last trip to Avalor, Captain Stern said he wanted to promote us to co-captains," Sara smiled.
