When I got home I helped my dad clean up the house, which was mostly unpacking the last few boxes and getting everything put away. Then I cooked dinner. dad had never been a very good cook. The closest hes ever come to cooking something edible is heating up left overs. I made spaghetti, since it was easy to cook. I put some garlic bread in the oven, then went to change my clothes.

I put on an orange dress. It went down to about my knee and was a strapless. I put a jean jacket on over it and slipped on my black converse. I straightened my hair and kept my make up to the minimum.

I went downstairs to set the table and just as I had finnished the doorbell rang. My dad was already opening the door as I rushed to his side. I saw Aidens dad first. My dad gestured for them all to come in. He was wearing a white button up shirt with a black jacket and a pair of black slacks. Behind him was a woman who looked to young to be his wife, but thats how he introduced her. Sge was wearing a red dress. It looked really tight and uncomfortable. Clinging to her skirt was a little girl who looked to be about five. She was wearing a puffy pink dress. They were all followed by Aiden. He looked amazing. He was wearing a white t-shirt that showed of his muscles perfectly. Over it was a grey jacket. He was wearing a pair of ripped jeans. And black converse. He managed to make the simplest thing look amazing!

"I'm David Ryder," The man said looking at me. Of course my dad knew who he was already. "This is my wife Julie, my daughter Ava, and my son Aiden." He  gestured towards each one as he said their name. I shook each of their hand including Aiden. I smiled at them.

"Hello, I'm George Matthews," my dad said looking at Ava and Aiden. "and this is my daughter Kirra." I smiled once again at them all.

"Oh, and where's your wife?" Mr. Ryder said.

"Exuse me?" Dad said. He was obviously caught off guard and I was to. We don't talk about my mother much. My dad likes to deal with his feeling in his own way by not talking about them. I guess I kinda took after him in that way.

"You are married, aren't you?"

"I was married, my wife passed away a couple years ago." Dad said.

"Oh, well I'm very sorry to hear that." Mrs. Ryder said.

I looked away so that they wouldn't see the tears silently fall from my eyes. Everybody was silent but I couldn't stay quite without having an emotional breakdown in front of them all.

"So, the dinning room is this way." I said leading them through the living room. They all followed me and took their places at the table as dad started to serve the food. As we ate no one spoke but they all seemed to be enjoying the dinner and as if to confirm my thoughts Mrs. Ryder said:

"George, this is really good. Did you make this?"

"No, I've never been a very good cook." Dad said smiling at me, "Actually Kirra made it."

Julie looked at me. She really did look surprised. "Well it is delicious."

"Thank you." I said smiling. I was really trying to make a good first impression. But I was already starting to think Aiden didn't like me. He kept looking over at me glaring. To be honest he kinda scared me. When everyone was finnished I went and got desert, which was apple pie and vanilla ice cream. After dinner everyone went to the living room while I stayed to clean up. And Aiden came into the kitchen.

"Do you need any help?" He asked.

"Umm, no I think I got it." I replied.

"Suit yourself." He said, then he just stood there. I knew he was watching me but I didnt dare to look over. I tend to blush very easily. After I finnished the dishes Aiden had finally went in the living room with the others and I wiped off the table, then went to join them. Just as I reached the door way Mr. Ryder said:
