NO ONES POV
Beca Mitchell was just your average teenager. Moody, unsocial, and very closed off. It was her first day at Barden University. She didn't want to be here, but she didn't have a choice either. Her life consisted of her dad ~ who also happened to be a English professor at the University ~ and her step mum, or step monster as she liked to call her, Sheila controlling her life. She was a single child, and her parents split when she was eight. She lived with her Mum until she was 13, but due to her Mum working in the airforce she had to move in with her dad.
Beca was excited to go to Barden sure, but she wasn't enthusiastic. She had to pay her dues and move to LA to become a big time music producer, she had big dreams to be famous within then end up the summer break.
BECA'S POV
It's my first day at Barden, and all I want to do is sleep, eat pizza, and make some more mixes. But no, my dad had other plans, I have to move into my dorm and socialise with my new room mate Kimmy-Jin, who, I'm not even sure speaks English. My life is a disaster, first of all, I have to move in with my dad, secondly, he marries a complete psycho, and last of all, he's forcing me to go to some lame University. I have to do what he says though, because he's all I have. I finish unpacking my bags when there's a knock at the door, and someone says "Campus police! Hide your wine coolers." I immediately know that voice, who is the one and only, Phil Mitchell. Yep, you guessed it! It's my father... I allow him into my dorm and he gives me a lecture about studying on the grass because it's spring time and blah blah blah. After about twenty minutes of throwing snarky comments back and forth at each other, we struck a deal. That if I get good grades, and join at least one social group, he will help me move to LA at the end of the year. I immediately agree, because I know there is definitely no way I'd be able to do it myself. He was about to start giving me another lecture when my room mate spoke up. "I'm going to the activities fair." Was all she said. I quickly added on that I was going to the activities fair too with my 'great' friend Kimmy-Jin.
I had been walking through colourful stalls for about 10 minutes now, when I saw one that caught my eye. A DJ club. I strolled over to the booth and started reading through some papers when a large blonde stood next to me and started reading the banner aloud. "DJing... Deaf Jews.. TRY HARDER.. Good try but that's not a language!" She bluntly stated in a thick Australian accent. I internally laughed at the craziness of this odd girl, but kept to myself and just kept walking. I was looking at a swim club thing when I heard a voice say "Aubrey what are we going to do?!" It was so angelic. My legs started carrying me towards the direction the sound came from. I came face to face with a tall blonde girl, and a girl with gorgeous red hair that splayed across her shoulders, and icy-blue eyes that could hypnotise you in an instant. Once again I heard that same voice, "Hi! I'm Chloe, and this is Aubrey. We're part of an acapela group. It's where we make music with only our mouths. We sing in competitions, and are hoping to win the nationals this year. Help us turn our dreams into a reality?" It came from the red headed girl that was standing behind the table. I was speechless, I didn't know what to say. I stood there for a moment completely shocked. She gave me a small smile which snapped me out of my thoughts, and all I could say is, "Sorry, I don't even sing. It was nice meeting you though." And with that I waved and walked back towards my dorm.
It was midnight, and I couldn't sleep. I decided to go have a shower thinking that no one else would be in the shared shower room. I walked through the door way while humming titanium by David Guetta, feat Sia. I walked to the very last stall so I was as far away from any human interaction as possible. I hung my robe on the hook, and continued singing the song. I was two seconds into my shower when I heard a voice from behind me. "You can sing!" I spun around in horror, to be met with the same icy-blue eyes. I quickly grabbed the curtain trying to cover my body up but she pulled it away again. "How high does your belt go?" She asked so casually. "What? Dude gross!" Was all I could reply with. She changed the topic by asking "you were singing titanium right?" I was stunned. "You know David Guetta?!" "Have I been living under a rock? Yeah. That's songs my jam......... my lady jam." "That's lovely.." my mind was racing. But I was managing to speak perfectly fine. "Can you sing it for me?" She asked out of no where. "Dude no! Get out!" I was so confused. All I wanted to do was shower in peace.. "not for that reason, I'm not leaving her until you sing!" And with that she took a deep inhale, and exhaled extremely loud. I knew she wouldn't budge, so I started singing.
I'm bullet proof nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
She joined in and we harmonised perfectly, it sounded amazing. And her voice was beyond beautiful, I was melting inside
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium, I am titanium, I am titanium, I am titanium
And with that we had finished. We looked into each others eyes, and I could've sworn I saw her look down at my lips for a split second. We stood there naked in awkward silence for what felt like hours. She broke the silence by motioning around her body and saying, "I'm pretty confident bout all this" and damnnn she should be. She's hot as hell dude. "You should be" I stated and smiled at her. She handed me my towel and walked out of the shower calling out behind her, "See you at auditions!" Man, I had one heck of a first day at University.AUTHORS NOTE!!
