Gunfire all around us,

families crying in the street.

Is this what America has become?

If so it has been no small feat.

Gunrunners have a new name now

they call themselves the NRA.

Rape is the new four letter word

that makes even men walk away.

When did we lose ourselves?

And all that we stand for?

If we can't respect life

what is it all for?

America was built on principles.

Sullied, bloodied principles.

On the backs of slaves and the poor.

What more do you ask. What more?

Not a day goes by without a gun shot.

Not a day goes by without rape

Will peace ever reign in America?

Or are we doomed to our fate?

The fate of revolutionaries

who never got the record straight.

We believe in a greater power

yet we ignore it...Great.

Pray to God, Jehovah, Allah you name it.

But if there's a gun out there I'm sure you'll claim it

Our world will not survive in the state that it's in.

Until we let humbleness and humility in.

Throw egos aside, cast aside our aspersions.

We all bleed red, we cry tears.

We are all one people.

Why do we fear?

Pray to your higher power,

we need to think about tomorrow.

Lives are precious we have only one.

What will you do when it's done.

We have a chance to learn from our pain,

to grow from our mistakes.

Love will keep us going,

it will keep us alive.

We only have one chance to survive.

Lay down your weapons

Lay down your hate

Embrace your fears and learn to create

A world that we can leave to our children

Where tolerance is life and all are equal.

A world where Fears are spoken aloud

and we speak as one people.
