Chapter Five: The Power of Enchantix

Nicki couldn't go to sleep at all after the dream. After what just she just found out, would you be able to go to sleep?

Nicki had only slept for thirty minutes, until her alarm went off.

(Nicki's POV begins)

My alarm goes off right at 7:00 a.m. I stretch my hand out to reach my alarm clock. After missing the snooze button several times, I finally hit it.

I don't feel like waking up. I just want to sleep. But if I don't wake up, I'll be in major trouble for skipping classes all because I was tired.

I muster the strength to get up from my bed, and decide to take a cold shower instead of a hot one. That should wake me up.

After my shower, I change into my clothes- a one shoulder black tank top and some black leggings. I pair my outfit with my black high tops.

"Maybe I should talk to the girls," I wonder out loud, "maybe explaining it to someone would make me feel better."

I grab my black diamond-encrusted messenger bag from the floor, and go to the girls' room.

I open the door to reveal my friends, who look ready to go school. All of them are sitting in the living room area.

"Good morning Nicki!" Nicole says. "We've been waiting on you for the past fifteen minutes.. What happened?"

"Sorry," I say, "I kinda just woke up and took my shower."

"You just woke up?" Marisa asks.

"Yeah." I respond.

"How come? You didn't get any sleep last night?" Jasmine asks me.

"Not exactly." I say.

"How come?" Mikayla asks me.

I explain to them everythng that happened last night in my dream. How I'm apparently not from the Planet of Darkness, my parents there are my adoptive parents, how I'm from the kingdom of Domino, and that the voice in my dream is my biological mother.

"Wow.." Jasmine says.

"Do you believe it's true?" Marisa asks me.

Before I can open my mouth to say anything, Nicole starts speaking.

"I don't think it's true.. I mean a voice just comes to you in a dream and tells you that their your daughter, and that you aren't from a specific realm? I say someone is pranking you." Nicole says.

"How do you know that?" Erin says and stands up, "many people have had dreams like that, and they were the truth! How could you say that it's a prank?"

"Yeah!" Marisa says, and she stands up as well, "you don't know that! Gosh, you really do act like your mother! You start up arguments for no good reason! You talk too much sometimes!"

"I DON'T DO ANY OF THOSE THINGS!!" Nicole yells, and she bangs on the table.

I just wanted some help, and look what's turned into- a full-blown argument.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Mikayla says calmly. "Both of you need to calm down. All of this is very unnecessary." Mikayla looks down at her watch. "We need to get to class. We have metamorphosimbiosis with Professor Wizgiz."

We all walk out the door, and into the hallway in silence, until I break the silence.

"What's metamorphosimbiosis?"

"It's the process of changing from one form into another." Jasmine says.

"Oh, that sounds cool!" I say.
