Planning Stupidity

Aaaannnnndddddd back to Kris~

     "Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"

"Will you quit screaming!?" The voice I had originally believed to not be in my memory bank, but actually was among the files of sounds I remembered, shouted. A hand ran through the dark green hair sitting atop the intruder's head. Vaporeon growled. "I'm not here to hurt you," he amended.

"Periscope." I acknowledged, setting a reassuring hand on Vaporeon's back. The twins hid behind my shins, peeking out to stare curiously up at the Team X member while Charizard and Pidgeot moved in defensively around me. Mew seemed to be debating whether to toy with Periscope or to protect Vaporeon. "Why are you here?"

Mew

And how do you know where we live?

"We've met under the worst possible conditions and I'm sorry for that, but I had to confirm my suspicions." Mew chose Vaporeon, settling on her back like a trainer would on a Ponyta getting ready to race.

"What are you talking about?" Incredible. The creep thought he could apologize for trying to abduct my Vaporeon and then attacking us on the route to Veilstone City in the middle of a storm!

"I've done some awful things. Things I wouldn't do under normal circumstances. I almost forgot who I was until you and your friend flew at us on your Pidgeot the first time we met." I glanced at my Pokemon all giving the same hard glare I was- with the exception of Kai who was not visible- trying to decipher exactly where he was going with all of this.

     Oh Arceus. Kai was gone.

"Keiko!" I hissed. "Where's your brother?"

Keiko

He muttered something about revenge and that he had to do it alone.

She sounded morose at the fact that Kai had left her to do something stupid alone- they were thick as thieves usually. Literally. Almost all my socks are mismatched pairs because their other half has been smuggled out of the dryer before I can get to them.

"Will you please make sense!? All these vague apologies and anecdotes are not helping your case!" I quickly scanned the room for Kai before resuming my glare at Periscope. "I'm losing my patience!" Honestly I'm not sure how I let him get this far without a swift kick to the seat of his pants for the awful things he'd undoubtedly committed.

"Kristen. I want you to infiltrate Team X. For years I've been trying to learn their end game or at least thwart some of their plans, bu- OW!" Kai's timing had never been great and his decision to bite Periscope's ankle at that precise moment did not improve his little quirk. Periscope raised his knee and glared at my precious little boy with a look that didn't speak volumes just a word- a question: really? "Will you please remove him?"

"Only if you start making some sense." I folded my arms and frowned at the dark green haired man while kept his jaw locked around his ankle.

Periscope looked caught between a rock and a hard place: frustrated trying to explain something to me and attached to little Kai via ankle and teeth. "Look," he gave a heavy sigh of exasperation, shaking his foot in hopes of detaching the Squirtle. I should have been proud of Kai for his efforts and attitude, but a different instinct was only making me worried for his safety and angry that he got himself into trouble. "It would probably help if I told you who I really am." Periscope smacked his forehead.

Mew

Huh? Is he trying to say he's really not a Team X creep?
