Brother and Sister

A/N: Hey Everyone! I'm back with another part! So in this part, Jeremy is gonna go to Elena's house, which is pretty far away from his (like three states away) and visit his family, because I think that after everything that happened a long while back, they need that. That's all I have for today everyone, so enjoy reading!

The doorbell rang through Elena and Damon's home. "That must be Jeremy," said Elena, and she walked to the front door, and opened it. Jeremy stood there, looking much more mature than the last time she saw him.  He had been down in Chicago interning for animation companies, and so his face grew more weary-looking over time. He still had pride in his step, though only Elena could notice it.

Elena pulled him into a warm embrace, one of her hands on his head. "Hey, I missed you," Jeremy smiled at her as they parted. Just as Elena was about to answer, her three-year-old daughter came running into the entrance room.

"Uncle Jer!!" she screamed in delight. Jeremy grabbed her and picked her up. "Hi sweetheart," he said, laughing with her as she played with his hair. Damon walked into the room, raven hair, as always, neatly trimmed.  "Hey Damon," Jeremy said as they pat each other on the back. "Little Gilbert," Damon smirked.

Jeremy scowled in distaste to that nickname, but followed Damon as they sat on the couch together, sharing drinks. Elena walked into the living room, "Hey! Drinks after dinner, now come, it's ready."

If you looked from a random person's perspective, you would just see that Jeremy and Elena were just brother and sister, but change your perspective, and you see the bond that they have. The trauma and loss they've been through, the happiness and thankfulness of each other. They've depended on each other for a while. But now, they don't have to face life and death. They can just enjoy each other, and be glad that they were still there.
