The thing about being petite, per say, is that tall people generally knock you around. So when the 6-foot something mass of muscle that I genuinely thought could’ve been a wall hit me, my body was flung backwards. In the split second I was falling through the musty air, I saw my uneventful life flash before my eyes, and to be honest, I was disappointed with the short film that was my measly existence.
Unfortunately, I was drawn back to Earth with a crash. Literally. A noise sounding like a mix of a dying cat and a plane engine left my mouth as my butt hit the floor with a horrifying thud. I would’ve pledged to the court that my butt bone had shattered into tiny shrapnel, but I was regrettably not called to the stand at the moment.
Ignoring my bag that had spilled everywhere, it’s contents being trampled like Mufasa by the annoyingly inattentive teenagers ignoring the girl currently laying in a painful pile of limbs on the dirty tile floor, I took in the lanky boy standing in an impassive stance before me.
Dressed in all black, he wore too tight skinny jeans that looked as if they would suffocate his ‘little friend’, and a black Nirvana shirt. Drinking in his form was currently keeping my mind off of the searing pain emitting from my butt, and I was grateful for the distraction.
By the time I had gotten a good look at his blonde, very styled, hair and blue eyes I personally wouldn’t mind drowning in, he had reached a hand out to help me up. Accepting his abnormally large hand, he dragged me up before leaving with a gruff “Watch where you’re going.” Now it might have been my hearing, or how fast he had muttered the rude words, but did I hear an accent?
That is about where my attraction to the giant male ended. First of all, my bum was now numb from him knocking me off of my feet, and not even in the romantic and ‘princess’ way, second of all, he was obviously the irritating guy blowing smoke into my weak lungs this morning, and to top it off he had the audacity to blame me; the 5’4” girl.
Now that I had somewhat come to my senses, I figured that my áss wasn’t shattered, just bruised, and noticed now that the hall was clearing of obnoxious students. Even sweet Caroline had left me in the rubble that had become of my personal belongings, not that I blamed her; our school has a strict no tardy rule. Apparently my life had become a massive cliché in the time span of 10 minutes.
I huffed, muttering choice words under my breath, trying my hardest to bend down and pick up my things without hurting my bum further. Scurrying to pull my Mary Poppins bag over my shoulder, I made my way to the first class of the year.

The day dragged on like any other, no signs of the foreign giant that had left me with a devastating injury on my bum and a detention slip for missing the beginning of English that morning.
Shoving past the slow paced freshman with a scowl stretched across my unintimidating face, I made my way to the dingy detention room. This whole school seems to have flickering lights, pairing my irritation for the foreign imbecile with a head splitting migraine.
I send a sharp glare at the fairly young teacher sitting at the front of the small classroom. Desks are scattered around the room in an unorganized fashion and I seem to be the only unfortunate soul unlucky enough to be attending this after school hell. Choosing a random seat near the back, I focus my attention on the middle-aged woman sitting and reading a magazine casually.
Her hair is tightly kept in a bun, loose clothing covering her stocky frame and glasses sitting tightly on her barely wrinkled face. She seemed as though she was extremely pretty when she was younger. Noticing my stare, she quirks an eyebrow, reprimanding me and telling me to work quietly before resuming her work.
Silence lapped for what seemed like hours when soft thumps could be heard through the closed door before it swung open and the same pale boy in the too tight skinny jeans lazily strode into the still room.
