School's out 2morrow WHOOP🌚✌️

Maia's POV:

No......no.....no.....NO

I was speechless. I was pretty sure I was motionless too until I felt water on my face and realized I am crying.

Now I'm frantically mopping up my face while the doctor tries to console me. Ugh now I feel like throwing up.....and it's not the baby...

How am I gonna tell Ross?......What if he hates me?... I'm not ready for this!!

Rydel's POV:

Okay, don't go reprimanding me, because I've tried multiple times this week to break it off with Jake, I really have. But what's a girl to do when she's caught in between two dreamy boys, even if she doesn't have feelings for one of them. Plus it's not just me, it's life in general.

Like the first time I planned to dump Jake, we had to grab lunch together, but he had to cancel because of a surprise visit from family.

The second time, I completely -err forgot....because I was at band practice on set-up duty...which now usually indicates some uh- "quality time" in my dressing room with the boy who already took care of his old gf...

And today would've been the third time I tried, but Maia just texted and said its urgent, so we're meeting at this cute little seaside restaurant.

I arrived at the building and walked in to find Maia at one of the few tables that are scattered around the small room. She looks distressed, she's been crying for sure. Her hair is in a loose messy braid and her face is so pale...

I sit down at the table and can immediately tell something's not right.

"Hey Maia," I start nervously. "What's wrong?"

She looks up at me and tries to say something but she's all choked up. I've never seen her this distraught before...

"How about we don't talk about this somewhere else," I suggest.

Maia and I head out to my car and get in.

"Now please tell me what's wrong?.."

Maia takes a deep breath then starts shakily,

"I went to the doctor to check if I was sick and -um I'm not-.."

Phew! I'm so glad she's not, but then why is she still sad?

"Then what's wrong?!" I retort.

"Well I'm kinda-" she starts. "I-I'm pregnant..."

Maia barely made out the last before she started bawling again.

There are so many thoughts going through my head right now...

"I-it's Ross's right?..." I question.

She nods.

"Please don't be mad at me," Maia starts as she goes to get out of the car.

But I grab her hand and pull her to face me.

"Maia..." I say. "That's wonderful!!"

I'm excited now.

"How could I be mad at you when I'm gonna be an auntie!!!" I giggle.

Maia half-smiles and I pull her into a hug.

Maia's POV:

It's unexplainable how happy I am that Rydel isn't mad at me for this but she's only one of the numerous other people I'll have to explain this to...

"Have you told Ross yet?" Rydel asks, releasing me from the hug.

"No, I'm scared he'll leave me.." I begin.

"Leave you?! If he does I'm pretty sure mom would disown him," Rydel laughs. "Oh my gosh! Mom! You have to tell her! And you told your mom right?"

"Well- not exactly..." I say. "I just found out yesterday, and at the moment, you're the only one who knows..."

"Gawd Maia! You have some talking to do... OMFG!!!" She starts abruptly. "IS IT A BOY OR A GIRL?!?!"

"It's too early to tell sorry," I laugh, my eyes are still puffy but I've stopped crying.

We decide to head back inside and get lunch, during which a lot of giggles and smiles as well as juicy gossip take place as we discuss our busy lives. We talk about preparing for the baby and Rydel tells me about the problems she's having with Jake, she says he's not "what she's looking for"...

I'm glad it's so easy to talk to Rydel about things, but I'm still not sure about everyone else...
