Esmeralda is a true flower child, being the daughter of Queen Flora. Her mother is also affectionately known as Mother Flower. Esmeralda is a living example of youth, beauty, and life, and draws the attention of King Anthony. While picking flowers with her companions, Esmeralda is lured away from the group by the most interesting, beautiful, and sweet-smelling blooms she has ever encountered. As she attempts to gather them, a great portal opens in front of her and Anthony bears upon her riding his beautiful midnight black stallions. He sweeps her away to his kingdom. Flora looks everywhere for her child, causing mayhem and destruction as she goes. At first Queen May does not see a need to seek out Anthony and confront him about the abduction of Esmeralda , but when Flora's horrible sadness causes her to neglect her duties as a Queen, the kingdom begins to suffer. People die from diseases, or starvation, animals become barren, and the land becomes cold and lifeless. May appeals to Anthony, but finds out that the problem is a lot more complicated than just asking for her release. Blossom has many rules, one of which is that should a mortal come in contact with anything the king or queen possesses in their kingdom, that mortal cannot leave it. Supposedly unbeknownst to Anthony, Esmeralda has taken a nap in the gardens. May is usually a stickler for the rules, unless it restricts her from getting something that she truly wants, but it this instance,she has to consider the fate of the world. She decrees that Esmeralda must be returned to Flora for everyone's sake, and that she and Anthony must share their time with her. They each get six months of the year with her. When Earl guides her out of the underworld and back to her mother, the earth begins to thaw. The earth experiences spring and summer while Esmeralda and Flora are together. While she is with Anthony , the earth feels Flora's lament during autumn and winter. There is also a story saying that Esmeralda went on to become a Queen because she ended up marrying King Anthony and having four children with him, Many say she is the ancestor of Queen Maddison, But that isn't true, The have the same powers but aren't related, In fact who says she even does marry King Anthony? It is just a legend.
