Into Another Time

The Party ( part 2)

We reached the party at 9 pm. Nicole's house was already buzzing with a big crowd, girls and guys drinking, chatting and dancing. Some groups were playing beer pong in the garden, while the others were clicking selfies but most of the crowd was inside. Chloe stopped her car and we walked right into Nicole's house which was open. We made our way in sheepishly, avoiding pulling too much attention and not making steady eye contact with people. I was already on the lookout for Nicole, but so far I could not find her. Like any other house party, different things were happening in different parts of the house: for dancing, living room was the place, for drinking, the kitchen and for quiet time the porch. I would say the room upstairs but some gross couple must already be hooking up in the rooms.

" This party is so lit!", Chloe exclaimed, " Ok I am going to find Sheila because she is our main contact. You can go in the bathroom for the time being", she said.

" you mean "hide"

She giggled," Well yeah, but if you don't want to you can get started with the drinks. But be careful not to drink too much and who you are taking drinks from, actually make them yourself. Much safer"

Seriously? I rolled my eyes," Yeah okay mum. Can I go now?"

She stuck her tongue out at me, turned back and left. Great, now I am freaking alone in this party. Might as well get a look at this place. I roamed the house, crazy teens blocking my way a lot of times, I had to push through sometimes to get from one place to another. And finally at one point I saw Nicole and her gang, she was wearing a red peplum skater dress and a red pout, drawing attention as always. But I was focused on only one person in her group: Shawn. Even though he was wearing only a basic black tee with a leather jacket and black pants, he looked stunning. His tanned skin contrasted with his white teeth and he was radiating happy energy from his deep, dark eyes. His grin instantly lifted my mood better than any alcohol could, and suddenly I wondered if I needed much booze afterall. But I made a point not to look too much at him to not be obvious. Afterall like I said, I was not "Fawning" over the guy; but ever since Chloe hinted constantly about me and him it does feel like I have a...feeling towards him. Just a feeling though. I grabbed a glass of cranberry juice off the tray placed on the nearby table and started sipping it, so it did not seem like I was a creep only here to stare at him.

Just as I was lost in these thoughts, I felt a presence behind me and a tap on the shoulder. I turned around to find a tall, lean guy with light brown hair and a diamond face shape looking at me expectantly. He parted his lips to speak but I beat him to it," Yeah?", I asked, smiling. He pushed his messy hair back and returned the smile," Hi,yeah I was just wondering if I know you. I think I have seen you at school". School? I don't think I have ever run into this guy, though it could be that we go to the same school and he noticed me but I didn't. Anyways would be nice to pass the time to chat with him. " Um, I don't know. I go to Riverdale High School, what about you?".

" yeah I go the same school"

"Yes then you probably did see me", I chuckled.

"So are you friends with Nicole?", he asked.

Uh-oh." I know her, she also goes to my school. I am a plus one", or a plus  "two" as Chloe would call it. Where is that girl? I am gonna kill her.  He flashed me a smile and I sipped on my juice, looking away to avoid further conversation. Dont get me wrong, he's a nice guy and nice lookin' but I dont want to get caught in a mess here. He did not get the hint though. "So..are you having fun? You look great tonight", he complimented me.

This is where I redirected my gaze to properly look at him. He was hitting on me! I was surprised af and a little bit flattered, but thanks to my awkward self I didn't know how to proceed. Plus I didn't know if I wanted to flirt with him...
