Rightful Place

Suga was out of breath and the sweat made his blond hair cling to his face. The cool air did nothing to cool him down as he ran. He had searched everywhere he could think to look. He felt like where ever Lonna had chosen to hide, was a place she felt he would never look. The thought scared him more. Many horrible thoughts ran through his head.

After checking their favorite park, he ran back to the school. Just as he started to doubt she was there, he looked up to the balcony outside the library, he could barely make it out, but the rate his heart was pounding told him it was her. The way she was curled in on herself made him feel so horrible. He hated himself for making her carry this burden on her own. He had to get to her.

The hallway that led to the stairs seemed like it was never ending as his feet pounded against the hard tile floor. His legs hurt so bad, he felt like he could collapse, but he knew he couldn’t. Seeing the stairs, he pushed all thoughts of pain out of his head as he rushed up them.

“Hey! Suga! Hey!” RM yelled as he watched him run past him. Suga didn’t answer him as he darted between the other three boys. Feeling that something was off, RM wasted no time in chasing after him with Taehyung, Jhope, and Jimin following close behind.

Suga didn’t stop until Lonna was finally a few feet from him. He felt his heart break at the sight of her. One of her feet dangled from the edge of the balcony, she had her head buried in her hands as her body shook from her sobs. He slowly made his way to her and crouched down beside her. “What are you doing here?” He spoke to let her know he was there. Lonna only shook her head in answer to his question. “What’s with the shaking head?” Suga could guess what was going on, but he needed her to tell him.

Lonna couldn’t stop from shaking, the tears flowed at a ridiculous rate from her already swollen eyes. “I…” Trying to speak only showed how sore the crying had made her throat, but she needed to tell Suga what was going on inside her head, so she fought against it. “I don’t know what’s the best thing to do. Why is it hurting everyone?” Suga could feel the anxiety start to well in his chest. He hadn’t thought it would be this hard on her. “I just simply wanted to like you.”

“I don’t care who I hurt.” Suga answered honestly. He didn’t care. He had wanted Lonna before he knew who she was, and the thought of losing her scared him. “Because, unless it’s you, I don’t want anyone else.”

Hearing Suga finally tell her how he felt, made Lonna feel slightly happy for what felt like the first time in so long. Without thinking, she threw her arms around his neck. Not being prepared for it, Suga lost his balance and caused them both to tumble to the concrete floor. In the moment, the small round ring box fell out of Lonna’s pocket and rolled away from them, causing the top to come off and show the tiny ring inside. Instead of being angry, like he normally would, Suga wrapped his arms around Lonna’s back and buried his chin in her shoulder as he held her to him.

He couldn’t deny how good it felt to hold her in his arms and the thought of never having the chance to again was devastating. He refused to ever let her go as he nuzzled his nose in her hair. A sudden light danced across his vision, catching his attention. He leaned up to look over Lonna’s shoulder, laying there was the ring he had thought he lost. He gently pushed Lonna up and reached over to grab it. “This ring, why is it here?” He asked.

Lonna wiped the tears from her eyes. “Seungwan said she found it and told me to return it to you.”

Suga chuckled as he reached in the box and pulled out the ring. He surprised Lonna by grabbing her hand and sliding the ring on to her middle finger. “No need. Because I got it for your birthday.” Seeing the smile on Lonna’s face made his heart beat with happiness. He couldn’t help but smile back. “Wear it always.” Lonna simply nodded her head before leaning towards him. Suga didn’t care about anything as he wrapped her in his arms again. Knowing Lonna was happy was all that mattered, and it was what made him happy as well.

For such a long time, I’ve wanted to be like this. Lonna thought as Suga pulled her closer to him. To be with Suga, without any concern about anything else. She would forever cherish the memory of this moment and silently wished it would never end.

Without the two’s knowledge, four heads popped over the railing of the stairs that led to the balcony. They silently giggled at the look of love on their leader’s face as he smiled with his girl in his arms. After giving them a moment to be alone, the four of them announced their presence by applauding the couple they were walking close to them. Suga and Lonna instantly pulled away from each other and quickly stood up. “What are you doing here?” Suga asked. They forced themselves not to laugh at how red his face was.

“We weren’t peeking on purpose.” Jhope said.

“But…” Taehyung tried hard to keep a straight face. “Coincidentally we are here to appreciate the moon.”

Lonna bit her lip out of embarrassment. “When did you start looking?” Suga asked. The four could see the jealousy in the way Suga wrapped his arm around Lonna’s shoulders and pulled her against his side.

Taehyung took a deep breath as he rubbed his chin in thought. “It was when…” He turned to RM and grabbed him, pulling him close. RM played along with his game as he lifted a hand to cup Taehyung’s cheek. They looked lovingly at each other. “I don’t care who I hurt.” Taehyung repeated Suga’s words. “Because, unless it’s you, I don’t want anyone else.” He sent a cheeky box smile in Suga’s direction. “From then.”

“I’ll kill you!” Suga yelled.

“Run!” The four boys yelled as they split and ran in opposite directions. Suga darted around trying his best to catch anyone. Lonna couldn’t help but laugh as she watched their horseplay.

Our love is a secret, but there are still people who understand us. Bless us and support us. She glanced down at the ring on her finger and happily admired it. The sound of Jimin yelling out brought her attention back to the boys. Suga had Jimin in a headlock and was using his fist to rub him hard on top the head. The other three boys tried to rescue the poor victim, but they too were met with punishment. Lonna rolled her eyes as she decided it was time for her to intervene.
