(Ya like that blueberry "watermark" ?)
This is Carleigh J. Livingston, she and her friends are going to show up VERY frequently in this book.
Let me tell your her story,
Carleigh
Born: August 7th, 1985 ( she's 2-6 when this part of the story starts)
Personality : Very positive, welcoming, a little tomboy, tries hard to be tough, it doesn't work, energetic, good and wholesome lil kiddo.
Bonding
. Carleigh goes to the suburban neighborhood's park with her grandmother every Friday, where she meets duckie (a small, shy, duck that grows attached to Carleigh and vice versa.) she also meets Daria, her future best friend for life.
. She goes to blockbuster with her mother on Saturday, then spends Sunday watching the movies from said rental store with her family.
Daria: or Dari for short
(yes she will have her own character intro)
. She befriends Daria by seeing her trip because of her poor vision (her hair gets in the way)
. She helps her up and tries to help her friend ways to get her hair out of her face via anything she finds on the ground.
. Daria has never met anyone like Carleigh who didn't comment on her hair but rather helped her with it. She takes this moment to give Carleigh a big ol' squeeze and runs back to her house in excitement.
. They then come back to the park any time they can to meet up with each other. (Plan sleepovers, play dates, future lives, you name it)
. -Insert best friend montage-
Uh Oh Spaghetti-o's
Everything is cool and good until, Carleigh's mom moves to the city for a better job and takes her family with her.
. Her mom isn't thrilled to leave their quaint environment when Carleigh is so young
. Her daughter hates change when things are working out for everyone so when she leans this news, she tries to stop her mom and salvage what she has.
. It doesn't work
. She eventually settles with convincing Dari to make her parents move near her
. Which actually works, and Carleigh is happy to have some part of her happy life with her before it gets destroyed by the city. Then they move and Carleigh goes though a bunch of stuff
Name: Carleigh J. Livingston (she looks like the Carleigh shown in the picture now)
Age: 6-10
Personality: Stubborn, determined, still a tomboy, sly, immature, emotional
What happens in the city
. The small family moves into an even smaller apartment, which makes everyone have to adjust.
. The park visits and movie rentals stop for the first 3 weeks of their city life, causing Carleigh to hold a grudge against literally everything
. On the 4th week of atp. Life, Carleigh's mom (who we will call Amy to save time) gets a job as Big Mega Corp's Mail girl/dedicated worker. While it doesn't pay as much as she'd like, she isn't about to quit. Not now. Not when her family needs her.
. She gets up early and gets home late, looking like a zombie the whole time
. Carleigh knows that her mom doesn't mean to make her feel upset at this point and attempts to help her by waking up before her and making her breakfast (the finest cereal known to man) and practically doing minuscule tasks for her (doing laundry, remembering special dates and occasions, etc. ) This makes her feel happy.
. Mean while, Car's grandma is finding she likes this new lifestyle more than she expected. Not only are things fast, but their diverse and always being talked about. She likes to take strolls around the city with her new friends. On one of these strolls, she memorizes a way to a new, bigger, park which she can take Carleigh to.
. Eventually, movie nights sneak back into the Livingston's living room and everything is cool and chill again.
SUDDENLY SRIDHARA
. Amy, out of nowhere, becomes more alert.
.Everyone else thinks she's on crack.
. She'll make breakfast for everyone, bring muffins to their neighbors and co-workers, work late shifts willingly, and go out...with someone.
. Carleigh becomes MEGA PISSED ( dun dun dun) because movie nights are cancelled for like the 4th time and it's because of something from the city.
. She starts eavesdropping on conversations from her mother and grandmother to find any sort of information on what's causing Amy to suddenly drift away.
. Then, with Daria's help, they find a common subject, "Sridhara" and "Date"
. Carleigh then makes it her goal to make her mom know that she knows about her little crush
. Amy reluctantly tells her that she's been friends/dating a man named Raj Sridhara ever since they moved to the city (it's been about 4 years)
. Carleigh is hurt that her mom didn't talk to her about him before and forms a grudge against Raj.
. Consequently, her mom isn't ok with this, leading to numerous fights between the two and her grandmother getting caught in them.

And so yeah that's about it! I've basically planned her life up until adult hood but I won't tell you everything just yet. That's what this book is for!
