We took the box of notes back to my house and studied them carefully in my room, there were patient analysis', death certificates, a map of the grounds which we were going to take with us for obvious reasons.
" What do you even want to do there ?", i asked Josh. He bit his bottom lip as he seemed like he was contemplating his answer.
" Well, i want to make contact with the spirits. My entire life has been based around paranormal i've been trying to prove it to myself for years, proving that ghosts are real and this could be it, this could be my evidence", he rambled excitedly. I would be lying if i said i wasn't terrified, not just for myself but for him ; he was so eager to explore the grounds that i was worried that he might not take precautions, that was the real reason i was going with him.
" Tyler", he snapped me out of my thoughts.
" Hmm?"
" You're, like, staring right at me. Are you okay?", he asked, he looked a little amused. I was mortified, was i actually staring ? That was so creepy !
" Oh, yeah, sorry. My mind was on another planet just then", i laughed it off. He laughed to and shook his head at me, looking back down at the papers sprawled out in front of him.
" Are you hungry ?", i asked randomly. It was just that it was getting late and i was pretty hungry so i figured.
" Yeah, i could eat", he said. I stood up and walked down to the kitchen.
" I was thinking pizza ?", i asked. He nodded so i got a pizza out of the fridge and preheated the oven.
" Are you sure you're okay to do this with me ? I know i'm sort of forcing you but i want to make sure you're okay, you don't have to do this just to, like, impress me or anything", he said. This boy could see right through me !
" To be perfectly honest i'd rather go in with you then let you go alone. I'd be worrying about you too much", i said. His face fell and a smile slowly crept onto his face.
" Worrying about me ?", he questioned. My face heated up and my stomach tied itself into a tight little knot.
" Uh, well, yeah", i said awkwardly and spun around to put the pizza into the oven and set the timer. I turned back around to see Josh was biting his bottom lip and smiling down at the ground just in front of my feet.
" Uh, so, have you got like a guest room or...?", he questioned. Shit, no i didn't.
" Uh, no. I could sleep in my parents room though", i suggested, he shook his head quickly though.
" No, no, i'm not pushing you out of your own bed. I can sleep on the floor or we could share your bed", he said. Share ? Now that was an idea...
" Uh, well, i can't let you sleep on the floor", i said suggestively with a straight, probably red face. He smiled and laughed at me.
" Okay, settled then"
The timer went off and i must have jumped a mile, i wasn't expecting that at all. Josh burst out laughing and i instantly felt embarrassed. I turned around, took an oven mitt from the counter and took the pizza out.
We ate and watched a movie together and then we decided to head off to bed because it was getting late. We walked up to my room and got ready for bed, i usually slept shirtless but i kept my top on because i didn't want to weird him out or anything, i didn't exactly have the most self esteem anyway. I looked over at Josh who had taken his shirt off, my eyes widened as i saw his extremely toned torso, my knees felt weak and my heart sped up dramatically.
" Tyler", i looked up at his eyes. " Staring, creepy", he said with a chuckle. I looked away quickly and let my gaze fall upon the window instead.
" Sorry, sorry", i said awkwardly. He laughed.
" It's cool i guess, you can look now by the way", he said. I looked over at him to see him lying on my bed looking at the ceiling, he wasn't really helping me out with the little problem in my pants.
" Maybe this isn't a good idea, maybe i'll go stay in my parents room", i said and went to leave.
" No, no stay", he begged and reached his hand out to me.
" I don't like sleeping in other people's hoses alone", he said.
" And yet you would go into an abandoned lunatic asylum on your own", i countered.
" J..Just stay here", he whined. I sighed heavily and walked back over to the bed, climbing on and lying on my side facing away from him, not to be rude or cold but just because i really couldn't look at him when he was shirtless and lying on my bed and keep calm all at the same time.

The next day i woke up to see i was alone in bed, i looked around the room, his things were still here. I heard the door open and saw him walk in, he was wet and had a towel tied loosely around his waist, he was rubbing another towel up against his hair to dry it. Are you fucking serious right now?
" Oh hey you didn't mind if i used your shower?", he asked, yes. Yes i did mind.
" No, no that's fine. I should have one myself actually, excuse me", i said and raced past him into the bathroom and locked myself in. I looked down at the quickly growing bulge in my pants and started to control my breathing and think of my grandma to calm myself down. I looked down and saw the problem was gone, i sighed heavily and went about turning the shower on and cleaning myself up. When i was done i walked over to my room to fortunately see a fully clothed Josh, i got dressed and we had breakfast before packing our things and leaving, heading towards the asylum. We walked in an eery silence and about five minutes later we were there, standing outside the gates. A terribly strange feeling washed over me, i wasn't frightened, but it was like my head slowed down and my thoughts went blurry.
" Are you sure you're up to this ?", Josh asked. I nodded and opened the huge gate, looking around to see if anyone saw us. We snuck into the front door and we found a long corridor, papers were spread out all over the floor along with chairs and stretchers that had straps on them where patients were fastened on them so they couldn't move or run away. I walked through the hallway with caution, keeping Josh close to me, we then found a huge room, it had tabled and chairs scattered all over the place, i saw chess pieces lying undisturbed on the ground by my feet and concluded that this was the common room, the place where patients spent most of the day either playing games or just sitting in some chair drooling. Josh walked past me and turned his flashlight on, he started exploring the ground and picking up certain things to study them...
