"I told everyone to meet us at your house when they're in the clear, so it depends." Dinah informed me as we stood in the doorway of my house. It had been a couple hours since we last talked where she had to leave to tell Normani and Y/N about our plan. I nodded my head in acknowledgement as the taller girl sauntered into the house. I couldn't help my smile of amusement as she just made herself at home on the couch. I closed the front door and went to join her on the opposite couch as candlelight flickered between us.

"You don't have to go back to your family and wait it out?" I asked absentmindedly as I noticed that Dinah wasn't going to make any move to leave any time soon. When she missed a beat on answering, I lifted my gaze to see the Polynesian with a sad smile on her face. Once she noticed that I was looking at her, she shook her head and let out a heavy sigh. I adjusted myself on the couch so that I could give her my full attention.

"My family and I were separated, and I haven't been able to find them again. I don't know where they are, I just know what direction they left in and I don't even know if that will help much because they could be literally anywhere. I was alone when Daniel and Y/N found me. I was hurt so Y/N helped me and while I was recovering we became close and the rest is history pretty much." Dinah smiled a tight-lipped smile and I could sense her depression. It was hard knowing that you're family could be anywhere, or on the contrary, not knowing if they were even alive anymore. It was a tough battle I fought myself with everyday, so I knew what Dinah was going through.

"I know how you feel." I muttered as I looked out of the window that laid behind Dinah. I mindlessly fidgeted with my fingers in my lap because this was still a very sensitive subject for me, and it was something that fucked me up ever since this world went to shit. "I had moved away from my family when I was hired and yeah, when everything went down, I wasn't able to get in contact with them." I sighed. After that, we both sat in silence as we let our minds drift to our loved ones. I hadn't realized how bad this was, I knew it was bad yet I didn't comprehend that other people had lost their loved ones as well. Seeing Y/N and her father and other families here together was all I had noticed, I didn't notice the people who had lost theirs. Added onto the fact that Dinah was now someone I could consider a friend, it only made that realization hit closer to home. "My doors are always open if you need anyone to talk to, Dinah."

The taller girl stood up from her spot and tackled me in a tight hug. I laughed and patted her on the back after I wrapped my arms around her waist. Dinah pulled away from the hug and went to sit back down on the couch across from me, but when she couldn't get comfortable she ended up laying down with her feet propped up on the armrest. I leaned back against the back of my own couch and placed my feet on the coffee table between the two couches as a silence settled between the two of us. It had already begun to get darker outside so after we had talked and everything, it was no surprise that people had started going to bed. It wasn't long before I heard a knock on the door. I had to get up and get it since Dinah had fallen asleep on the couch where she was starting to snore. I rolled my eyes and answered the door, seeing Normani with Y/N behind her. I invited the two in the house as Normani greeted me yet Y/N stayed quiet, following slowly behind her friend.

The shorter girl looked around the house as Normani went to try to wake Dinah up. "Did you need anything?" I came up behind Y/N to speak quietly so only she would hear me. Without looking at me, she shook her head and went to stand next to her two friends. I sighed to myself and followed her into the living room where I sat down. Dinah was just starting to wake up and Normani joined her on the opposite couch. Normani looked up to see Y/N still standing there with her hands in her pockets so the darker skinned girl pointed her finger to the spot next to where I was sitting.

"You can sit next to Lauren if you want." Normani coaxed but again, Y/N shook her head without saying a word. "Okay." Normani dragged out as she looked over to me. Dinah had sat up in her spot but she was still lounging around. "Anyways, what's the plan? All we know is what we need but not where to get it." Normani sighed while looking between all three of us. Dinah shrugged her shoulders with a yawn. Y/N remained impassive, not moving and not looking up from where her eyes were downcast towards the floor. I bit my lip in thought.
