A Tale of a Dystopian Future

Prologue

The year is 2092. Due to a nuclear war between North Korea and the U.S. in 2020, the North American continent is a wasteland. Canada, knowing a war was coming, invested all research into shielding tec, and deployed it on the border. The shield failed at the Great Lakes region, resulting in the loss of Ottowa and Toronto. Vancouver was selected as the new capital, and surviving mutants were taken from the American ruins to experiment on. Most of eastern Asia is now uninhabited due to fallout, except Japan, who received the same shielding tec from Canada. The EU, Austrailia, Japan, and Canada have joined into an economical Union, known as the Civilized powers, of which Canada is the center of, as it has the monopoly on fresh water. All of Central America and South America developed into a war, except for Panama, who is staying strictly neutral, and the Civilized Powers have threatened to invade anyone who invades them. Russia has gone isolationist, and the Middle East is still in its never-ending conflict. India is a trading empire, and Africa is mostly the same. The Suez canal is gone. In 2085, a band of rebels, known as "the Coalition to Restore Canada", formed. We start the story in a mutant research lab in the base of the Rocky Mountains.
