The Come Up

Chapter 11

Alexus' POV

"Alexus come back..." Tatyana yelled. I just kept walking. I knew if I went back, her and Justin was just going to prevent me from doing what I needed to do. But I had my little brother to take care of and I promised him that he didn't have to be without. I got to the bus stop and sat down. I looked at my phone and had three missed calls from Zadarius. I can't be with somebody that's going to believe what everyone else says about me. The bus pulled up and I made a call to my old friend Alex.

*conversation*

Alex: Hello

Alexus: Hey Alex, I need a favor...

Alex: What kind of favor Alexus?

Alexus: Im on my way to your house so we will talk about it when I get there.

Alex: Bet

*end of conversation*

On the bus the ride to Alex's house was just too far. It took about an hour long. But I just know this ride was worth it. Alex and I had a relationship in the past that lasted about a week. He stays in Arlington but it ended up being too far for me. Plus he was a little old for me and his anger was crazy. On the bus there was plenty people. Just enough to make me want to get off. When I got to Alex's house I stood at the door for a minute. Lord knows I was scared to knock on his door. But before I could even knock he open the door. "What's up Alexus?" he said looking me in my eyes. At first, I didn't know what to say. I open my arms looking for a hug. He looked down at my arms, took a deep breath, and walked into my arms. "How you been?" I said as Alex walked away. "Where you going?" I said watching him. "I have other shit to do Alexus... What did you want?" he said pulling his keys out his pocket. "Come here..." I said poking my bottom lip out. He stopped walking and looked at me. "What Alexus?" I gave him puppy dig eyes and a small smile came across his face. He walked up and wrapped his hands around my waist. He leaned back on the car and kissed my forehead. "I've missed you... You never call me or nothing. How's Demonta doing?" said Alex still holding me. I smiled at his concern. I knew somewhere in that little heart of his, he still cared. "I apologize for not keeping in touch. I just been really busy. And Demonta is fine... I called because I need a warehouse." The look Alex gave was horrific but he was still holding on to my hips. "I got you baby.." he said letting me go. "Get in the car... I want to show you something." I nodded and walked to the passenger side of the car. Some how I knew this was going to be a strange ride.

*about twenty minutes later*

We pulled up to this warehouse that I had never seen before but it was about two or three blocks from the house I had with Dion. Alex stopped the car and looked down at his hands. "This is how I found out about you and Dion... I thought you really liked me. Then, I saw how much you loved him. I sold dope out this warehouse the whole time we were together. If you've ever wondered why I called it quits. This is why... Couple months after that I heard you had a baby. True?" I didn't know what to say so I just looked out the window. There's no possible way I could explain myself. But I know some way I had to. I looked up at Alex and a tear fell. "Alex Im so sorry. At first he was my way out. Then, you came along but I just couldn't shake Dion... When you said you didn't want to mess with me anymore I decided why not have baby with Dion." I said fiddling with my skirt. "Look Alexus... I forgive you. Now Im going to give you this warehouse. I want a cut though. 15% is mine, 30% is Monta's, and the rest is yours." he said driving back to the house. I nodded at everything he was saying. "You sure you want to do this Alexus?" Alex asked before we pulled up in his driveway. "Yes Alex...." I said smiling. He took the keys out of the ignition and got out of the car.  I looked at him and got out too. I walked up to Alex and he gave me a key. "Thank you Alex." I said hugging his neck. Alex pulled back from the hug and kissed me. At first, I didn't know what to say or do. I pushed away and held my mouth. I was stunned. "What was that about Alex?" I said wiping my lips. "Alexus, Dion is gone now. Let's see how far we go... I let you go once. I'm not letting that happen again." he said putting his hands in mine. I smiled at the fact that he was still interested.

Soon as I was about to answer him, my phone rang. I walked away from Alex to answer the call. "What Tatyana?" I said irritated. "Something happened to Monta... Where are you?" she said scared out of her damn mind. "Where is he?" I said getting back in Alex's car. "Baylor. " she said. I hung up the phone and told Alex to take me to the hospital.
